Description  Kurt doesn’t know what he’s expecting, but a room filled with attractive shirtless guys is not one of them. He doesn’t know if he should shield his eyes or pull out his camera, or if turning and running away would be the best thing to do. He turns to walk out but finds his exit blocked by a brown toned chest. He ranks his eyes up to look into dark chocolate ones and blinks, stumbling away.

“Welcome,” the man offers, smiling, “You’re new here, aren’t you?”

“I-I’m sorry,” Kurt stutters out, shrinking away from him. He holds his hands up in front of him, ready for the attack. “I didn’t mean to interrupt, I got lost and –please don’t hurt me.” He bows his head a little, anticipating the blog that doesn’t come.

When no one’s hitting him, he looks up, startled. The men in the room have come closer to him, but kept a distance save for the one he bumped into. “We’re nothing going to hurt you,” he laughs, patting his shoulder. “You don’t know who we are, then.” He gestures around the room, “We’re gay.” The room erupts in small laughter, and Kurt slowly lowers his hands. “You transferred to Dalton because of the no bullying, didn’t you?” When Kurt nods, he continues. “We’re Dalton Academy’s host club, the Warblers. We’re a select group of attractive gay men for other gay man in school to come to for things they need.”

A blush rises in Kurt’s cheeks at the realization of his words, “O-oh, no-no,” he tries to laugh, “I was just giving myself the tour –I don’t need anything. Wow, uh, I’ll –I’ll go.”

“You don’t have to go yet,” a different man steps forward, with dark hair gelled back and Asian eyes, “Even if you don’t need anything, we can still help you.” He holds his hand out, and Kurt debates taking it because who knows where its been, “I’m Wes. You look smart, so we’ll probably be in some of the same classes.”

“I’m David,” the man from before introduces himself with a wide smile.

Two arms wind around his shoulders and Kurt jumps, ducking away from them. He stares at the two men in front of him that share looks in every way imaginable. “I’m Evan,” the one on the left says, leaning forwards and winking at him.

“I’m Ethan,” the other blows him a kiss, blonde hair falling in front of his eyes. Kurt blushes.

Kurt tries to run out the room but he knocks into another chest, a man much shorter than him. “I’m Nick,” a cute brunette tells him, nice scrunching as he smiles. His light brown eyes are endearing.

Next to him, a tall blond grabs his hand and pulls him a against him, “I’m Jeff,” he says, smirking. “We’re kind of a package deal. You want one, you get us both.” Kurt thinks he winked at him, but he wasn’t sure.

He backs up a little, trying to get away from them, but bumps into someone else. He turns, looking up into hazel eyes and thick blond hair swept to the side. The way the man is looking at him makes him itch, and he averts his attention to the ground. “I’m Logan,” the man says, voice deep. “And you’re hot.”

Kurt gasps, shaking his head, backing up. It’s too much to take in, too much to understand on his first day. Dalton Academy, the prestigious all boys highschool, has a host club. A gay host club. He shakes his head again.

“Guys, don’t scare him,” a male much shorter than Kurt walks forwards, red curls bouncing on his head and face much like a cherubs. “It’s his first day-” his foot snags on Logans khakis, and he falls forwards. On instinct, Kurt reaches out to catch him, stumbling a little in the process but holding him up. “O-oh, thank you. I’m sorry.”

Ethan –or Evan, he can’t tell- slings his arm around the red heads shoulder, “This is Reed.”

“Gotta be extra careful if you want him,” Evan –or whoever- continues, arm around his own shoulder.

 “He’s dangerous.” They finish together.

Kurt ducks under their arms and makes it half way to the door before Logan trips him. He lands on the floor, hands catching himself on cool tile. He looks at him over his shoulder, “Are you mental?” He asks, pushing himself up, raging.

“I knew you weren’t that shy,” he grins down at him, looking smug.

Kurt was raised better and has much as he wants to push the man he doesn’t. Tears spring to his eyes, frustrated and humiliated, and he tries to brush them away. They fall anyway and he feels like such a coward for letting them fall, for letting these guys see him cry like this. It’s too much like McKinley. Logan reminds him too much of his past tormenters and he needs to escape. He needs to breathe. There’s not enough air in here.

A hand settles on his shoulder and he flinches away, trying not to breathe too heavily. “Logan, get out of here,” Ethan pushes him away, towards the door.

“You’re such an ass,” Evan frowns at him, helping his brother. “You do this every time we get a pretty face.” He ‘tut’s.

Reed places his hand gently back on his shoulder and this time Kurt doesn’t flinch. He doesn’t make eye contact with the others in the room. His heart is still beating in his chest, loudly, and he’s sure everyone else can hear it. “Uh, are you okay? K-kurt?”

And it’s the first time he’s heard his name spoken by any of these guys and he wants to ask how they know him, but if he opens his mouth he knows he’ll cry. He just shakes his head, shrugs out of his grip and rushes to the door.

“Wait until you stop crying,” Nick stops him with a hand on his elbow, pulling him back.

“Someone get a chair,” David instructs, taking Kurt’s bag from him and setting it down.

“I’m fine,” Kurt insists through his tears, “Really, please let go.”

It’s Wes who kneels down in front of him with a charming smile. “Would you like some coffee?” The smile calms him, drags him in enough to mutter a weak ‘yes’.

He stays rigid in the chair as he’s handed a cup of coffee, offering a nod at Wes.

His goal for today was to find his way around the campus and find his dorm, meet a few of his teachers and a few of his peers, and maybe eat dinner, but after running into the host club he doesn’t think he’ll get anything else done.

Kurt’s heart finally slows enough for him to breathe evenly, and the others notice it. Evan flanks his right side as Ethan kneels down on his left. “Logan’s just an ass.”

“A real red queen, if you know what I mean,” Evan shrugs next to him.

Ethan continues, “He probably didn’t mean anything by it.”

“Or maybe he did,” they both shrug.

 “Either way-”

“What they’re trying to say,” David cuts him off, pushing the two away from him. “Logan is really difficult to get along with. He’s picky about his people, kind of an ass-”

 “-a huge ass.”

“But he won’t bother you.” David’s smile is reassuring, but Kurt doesn’t feel anymore at east as he did when he walked into the room.

“So why is he part of your host club, then?” Kurt asks, huffing.

Jeff laughs, blond hair covering his eyes before he pushes it away. “He’s the highest rank in here,” he tell him, “Julian Larson, The Julian Larson, requests him every day. He pays hundreds of dollars just to take the ass on a date. No one pays that much money for anyone, but,” he shrugs, snickering, “Julian is obsessed with the guy.”

“I heard they used to be friends,” Reed comments from his spot next to Kurt. “Back in middle school or something.”

Jeff shrugs again, “That’s why Logan is in the Host club. Stay clear of him if you know what’s good for you.”

“W-what do you mean?” Kurt asks, suddenly nervous. The mood in the atmosphere changes, and he feels like he can’t breathe again.

“You didn’t pick up on it?” Ethan –or Evan- asks. He shakes his head.

From the back, a figure steps out. He’s short, just a little taller than Reed, and his blazer is buttoned perfectly atop his shirt. He has black hair gelled into place atop his head, and Kurt notices the colour of his eyes and how they reflect the lighting around them. The way the others stop talking and let him through is enough to tell him that he’s important, and Kurt cowers back into his chair. He stops in front of him, speaking over his shoulder in a voice that gives him goosebumps, “Haven’t you guys scared him enough? How could you have let Logan do that to him.” Then, to him, “My name’s Blaine.” He holds his hand out and Kurt actually takes it, damning whatever it could have touched. The smile he gets in return makes his heart beat.

Blaine turns back to the others. “I’ll take him around the school. He looks like he’s suffocating,” he leans over to pick up his bag. “We’ll all see him around campus.”

He takes his hand and pulls him out of the room before Kurt has the time to thank them for the coffee, but he follows him, lets himself be pulled around by the handsome stranger. They stop in a corridor, breathless, and Blaine is smiling at him again. “I’m really sorry about Logan,” he’s sincere, “I’ve been trying to get them to kick him out, but,” he shakes his head. “At least now you’ll know what to expect from him.  But the others guys, they’re cool.” He wipes his hand across his forehead. “We’ll protect you from him.”

“Protect?” Kurt asks, scrunching up his face, “Is he really that bad.”

“I’m not going to answer that,” Blaine laughs. When Kurt doesn’t laugh with him, Blaine slumps off the wall, grabbing his wrist and pulling him further down the corridor. “He’s just really horrible, we’ll leave it at that. It’s your first day, I don’t want to overwhelm you.”

“I already met the host club,” Kurt mutters, “how much overwhelmed can I get.”

Blaine laughs again, and Kurt thinks is beautiful. “Oh, trust me.” He pulls them to a stop at the bottom of the staircase. “You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into. Especially now since you met the host club but.” He smiles. “Which dorm are you in?”

 “Uhh, Windsor.”

 “Perfect.”

 “Why?”

“I’m in there, too.” Blaine’s smile is wide as he pulls him up the stairs. “David, Wes, Evan and Ethan, and Reed are in here, too. You’ll probably be rooming with Reed. And Logan, he’s in Stuart. He doesn’t come here, so at least here, you’re safe.”

“This is too much.” Kurt breathes out, suddenly feeling trapped.

Blaine stops them, turns Kurt to look at him. “We’re a good school. You’re safe here.”

“You seem like there’s some big secret,” Kurt laughs, “Like you’re all vampires and he’s the most bloodthirsty or something.”

Blaine laughs with him, “No, certainly not that. Logan just has a past that I’m not going to get into. You heard about Julian, right?” Kurt nods, and he continues, “He’s nice. You can talk to him. I don’t know why he likes Logan so much, but he does. I’m not going to tell him he’s wrong when he’s our main source of income.”

“Isn’t this a really rich school?”

“The host club isn’t founded by the school,” Blain assures him, “The school pretends we don’t exist. But, really, what did they expect of an all boys school? But, anyway, Logan bad. Julian good. Host club good. Logan bad. Remember that and you’ll be good even if you don’t have one of us around you.”

 “You’re scaring me.”

He laughs, “Don’t be scared. I promise, you’ve already made friends here. The twins look rather fond of you, honestly. Once they like you they don’t back off. You’re friends for life at this point.”

Blain pats his back, reassuring smile. “And I like you, so. I’m hoping we could be friends.”

 “Y-yeah, of course.”

Kurt doesn’t know what he’s expecting but a kiss is not one of them.
