So yes, I was bitten by the bug of My Little Pony, and I regret nothing. I wanted to draw up my own versions of human-ponies, using my own ideas and trying to go for a decent amount of variety, as Faust herself said "there is no right way to be a girl".

Recently these designs caused rather a lot of drama, mostly on Ponychan, where I was treated to some pretty awesome criticism, such as "they all look fat", "overweight housewives from hawaii", "you actually might have some talent, but these all look fucking terrible and overweight for NO reason.", "misshapen, out of character and just plain ugly." and "obesity is unhealty!" And clearly I should be ashamed of myself for drawing these, and I am also fat, ugly, a fat fetishist, and childish.

Look, I am happy to get comments on how to push the designs further in order to give them each a more unique look. I know these could be more refined and cleaned up to better reflect the feel of each pony.
Those of you who follow my Tumblr account will recognize I made some changes to the designs I have posted here already, with some changes to body shapes, colors, and sizes.

But if you just want to tell me that I should draw skinnier girls, or to fat-shame and body-shame and be a sexist asshole, just don't bother, because I've heard it already. Also, ponies are serious business.

That said, this picture was supposed to be meant in good fun, but I had some specific things I was aiming for in each design, so maybe expanding on those would help.

Rainbow Dash: Obviously athletic, I used TF2's scout as inspiration to give her strong legs (seriously, look at female runners, they have legs like... well, horses) with a slimmer torso, and trim arms, and a cute butchy look.

Rarity: I was inspired by her accent to think of Old Hollywood and women like Marilyn Monroe, so I wanted to give her a kind of 50s pinup girl figure, with the trim waist and curvy hips, along with vintage-styled clothing.

Applejack: Being that it seems it is only her and Big Mac doing the hard physical labor around the farm, I wanted to make her strong, buff and like she really could kick apples out of a tree, with strong shoulders for hauling baskets of apples.

Fluttershy: A curvy, mother-like figure, with her soft, flowy hippy clothes to conceal some of her curves. Simple and breezy, with Birkenstocks to complete the hippie look.

Twilight: Most designs I saw of her have her in sort of nerdy conservative schoolgirl type outfits. I wanted to go a bit different, making her a time-frazzles grad student, no time to fuss with fashion I HAVE TO WRITE A DISSERTATION.

Pinkie Pie: Soft, jolly and bursting with tons of 80s and raver colors! With hair that is probably like Ms. Frizzle's to match her bright fashion sense.

TL;DR: ponies are serious business, so just enjoy the drawings
