Description

I haven't drawn mom Freya in a while and she's a lot of fun, so it's time to bring her back.

I think she gets more chaotic with age, and every year just becomes more and more unhinged until she will eventually become a crazy old witch who lives in the woods. Goals, honestly.

Headcanons:

-After marrying young and deciding college was not for her, she was the first of her friend group to have a kid. Unfortunately, this means she thinks everyone wants her advice.

-Aside from being a full-time mom and farmhand, she is a children's book author and enjoys writing stories based on the superstitions and legends of her upbringing.

-Anytime one of her kids brings a friend over, she has to tell them the story behind her father's severed finger in a box on the mantle, much to everyone's dismay.

-Thanks to her midwife mother's teachings, has great remedies for any kind of stomachache or fever, but some of her methods are a little more offbeat (Nazz has politely declined her home-extracted fish paste several times).

-She is Peach Creek's go-to babysitter. After 5 or 6 kids, she barely notices if someone drops off another and will probably end up putting them to work on the farm.

-She upholds her culture's very traditional methods of child-rearing and often has no idea how to relate to her more modern, tech-savvy teens, so her kids are often embarrassed by her or think she's kind of lame.

-Although she lets Rolf handle most of the discipline, she has been known to scare the hell out of her kids by threatening to sell them to a bridge troll. Usually, this is to get them to go to bed so she and Rolf can actually get some sleep, or at least some peace and quiet.

-She honestly kind of thrives as a mom and her approach to pregnancy is more or less, "I've got this, I don't need any help, I am an expert." And she's not wrong.

-Despite her rough edges and morbid humor, Freya is a very affectionate mama bear who will kick anyone's ass for disrespecting her family. She'll kick her friends' asses, her sister's ass, her husband's ass, even her own ass. Just let her kick someone.
