Description So is it just me, or has deviantart been really dead lately?

Anyway, this illustration of a Carnival dancer was inspired by Rio winning the 2016 Olympics. (And good for them, I say! South America has never gotten to host the Olympics before!) Plus, this is something different from me. Finally, something non-geisha, right?

Oil wash, guache, transparent airbrush, and colored pencil.

First have to say, grats on broaching outside your normal area of expertise~ Secondly, I feel that the gradient in the background could have perhaps been smoother. Might have been the medium though. However, what I'm digging the most, is how the neon colors up top reflect the sort of bright colors in the bottom. Lends to a nice sort of reversal.

I have tendancy to really rush backgrounds, namely because I hate doing them. My concern is that it's too streaky, but I've been too lazy to fix it.
