Description Loved the Kelp that was washed ashore during low tide on Mull. It was all too easy imagining it to consist of myriads of alien spores, ready to take over the world.

Nice work! I like the choice of black and white, it gives it a little bit of mystery.

There wasn't much colour to begin with, it's almost the way it really looked.

black and shiny devil eggs,
gifts from a careless sea,
lay scattered like such flotsam,
on the coasts of galalee,

many men have fallen,
in attempts to steal this prize,
some have gone deep down below,
and none of them survived,

such hatefull little hatchlings,
these deadly demon spawn,
hungry and deceitful beasts,
i wish they'd not been born.

Wow...for a second there I thought they were spoons That may sound weird, but there was a sculptor I saw who used half-melted spoons to look like sperms.

They look very alien to me too It's creepy and interesting

He he, they certainly make one's imagination go wild. I'm pretty much into the "Invasion of the Bodysnatchers" thing when it comes to this..

Very interesting effect with the grayscale. They look metallic, or fragile, like paper-thin ash.

Really neat composition.

Thank you. I didn't really do a lot to this shot, the stuff was interesting all by itself.

Haha! Those aliens again...
Lovely! As a child I already dug the beaches for things like these. This sparks nice memories. Thanks.

My brother and I used to throw dead jellyfish at each other when we were at the beach...

Hahaha!! I can just about imagine it... (used to live directly at the coast for 8 years).
Did you get to see the red, poisonous Lion's Mane Jellyfish? They always amazed me because of their size.

No, we avoided the red ones because we knew that touching them could have nasty effects.

Yea - despite having come across them regularly in my life - I've never touched one of them. I think it cannot be too nice of an experience...

I heard it's rather nasty, and I didn't bother checking whether that was true.
