The Jazz Festival had finally arrived in Lumiose City, after months of hype. The music was loud and brash, nothing like the citizens in Kalos has ever heard before. Yet, it was also smooth and rich, so everyone loved it. You and your friends Serena, Calem, Tierno, Trevor, and Shauna were all enjoying the festivities.

"Check out this mask I got~!" Shauna said, putting on an intricate blue, green, and gold masquerade mask. Tierno was tapping his feet to the music, while Trevor looked at the Pokémon from many different regions. Serena sported a pink and gold masquerade mask as well.

"I'm so glad we managed to get here before the crowd!" Serena said. "I just love the music. Makes me want to dance!" Tierno agreed. You smiled at your friends, happy you could spend time with them. Calem especially.

"Um, speaking of the crowds..." Trevor warned quietly, pointing a finger into the distance. A horde of people had gathered into one place, following the jazz players like a flock of sheep. Soon, they began to move like a flash flood towards you and your friends' direction.

"Quelle monde, what a crowd! Yeah, we should probably move." Calem said, grabbing yours and Trevor's hands (making you blush) and pulling you towards the side of the street. Serena did the same for Shauna and Tierno, pulling them to the opposite side.

Suddenly, you were whisked away into the crowd. "[Name]!" Calem called, but was unable to reach you. You tried to get through the raving mob, but to no avail. It was like trying to get up a waterfall without, well, Waterfall.

"Calem! Trevor!" You shouted back. You found yourself lost amongst a sea of strangers, who were too busy desperately trying to get an autograph from their favorite performer to notice you.

No amount of 'excuse me's' or 'I'm lost please let me through's' or 'get the f*ck out of my way's' would part the crowd. Not that you would say the last one to someone's face. Rude.

You tried to wave your wrist around in the air, hoping that one of your friends would be able to see the gleaming [favorite color] Mega Bracelet you had. It was so jam packed you couldn't even reach the Poké Balls straped to your waist to release your trusty Pokémon companions.

Calem couldn't take it any longer. He had to get [Name] back. "Trevor," he ordered, "stay here and don't get swept away!" Calem released his Altaria from his Poké Ball with a burst of light, hopping on and flying above the crowds.

His eyes quickly scanned the crowd, trying to catch a glimpse of his dear friend. Five minutes, ten minutes... No sign of [Name]. But then, he saw you frantically waving your hand, your [favorite color] Mega Bracelet sparkling in the sunlight.

"[Name]!" He yelled, "over here!"

You looked up and saw Calem soaring towards you. "Calem!" You cried. He instructed his Altaria to swoop down lower and lower, until he grabbed your arms and hoisted you onto his Pokémon's back.

"Oh, Arceus! That was really scary!" He remarked, as you threw your arms around him. "Thanks." You said, your face muffled as you buried your face into his shoulder. A couple tears of relief dripped down your face.

"Please don't cry, [Name]. You're safe with me now." He murmured, slightly alarmed. You sniffled. "...okay." You complied, as the two of you flew. He landed on top of an abandoned building, above the raging crowds.

Calem quickly called his friends on his Holo Caster, making sure they were alright. They made plans to regroup as soon as the crowds were gone, then hung up and recalled his Altaria. "Again, thanks for saving me." You said, smiling. He turned pink.

"Eh, de rien, it's not a big deal. You're making me sound like a superhero. I'm just Calem." He replied. You shook your head, and deciding to be bold, you hugged him tightly and gave him a peck on his cheek.

"No, I think you're a superhero. My savior." You said. You suppressed a giggle as you could see the tips of his ears go scarlet. You could feel your face heat up as well. "W-well, if you insist." Calem laughed nervously, holding up his arms in surrender.

You gazed down at the streets below, and saw that the crowds haven't even budged. "They haven't even moved!" You groaned. "This is going to take forever."

"Well, we might as make use of all that extra time, huh?" Calem said, sounding as shy as Trevor. Without any warning, he drew you up close to him, planting his lips right onto yours. Your eyes widened as his eyes closed, before you started to enjoy the kiss.

So much, you didn't even notice Tierno fly onto the building and right next to you.

"[Name], Calem! The crowd is- uh, I'm not interrupting something, am I?" He asked. You two finally pulled away, blushing and smiling sheepishly. Calem kept his gray eyes on the ground, as if it suddenly became interesting.

"Um, hi Tierno!" You said with forced cheerfulness, trying to dispel the tense atmosphere. Calem coughed awkwardly, his face pink.

"I think I'll just, you know, be going now. Have fun!" Tierno said, waving and flying away. You looked at him until he was far off into the distance. Then, you felt a light tap on your shoulder.

"Shall we continue?" He offered, a playful glint in his eyes. Your arms snaked around his neck as you smiled.

"Glad you asked." You say, then picked up where you two left off. As Tierno told you, the two of you had fun.

The sweet jazz music filled the streets of Lumiose City, far into the night, where the stars were the brightest and the couples were at their happiest.

Calem took you out to one of Lumiose City's many restaurants. Both of you decided on a nice, casual pizzeria. After ordering, you looked at him, resting your face on your hands.

"You know, I'm kind of glad I got swept away. Anything to be rescued by my hero." You joked, taking a sip of your lemonade. He chuckled alongside you.

"Oh, stop. You could have been hurt, you know. I was just looking out for my friend, that's all." He said modestly. You rolled your eyes, wishing you could give him a kiss. However, you didn't want to be kicked out on your first 'date.'

"Don't you mean girlfriend, dear boyfriend?" You teased, giggling as he blushed. You nudged him from underneath the table.

"Non, no," he said, surprising you. "I haven't asked you yet." Calem replied. You recovered quickly from your shock and grinned, winking flirtatiously.

"Well, my answer is yes, when you do ask." You said.

"Je t'aime."

"Je t'aime aussi."
