Fiiinally done. I started this back in March, but I've only been able to work on it in small bursts.The idea for this piece stemmed from a dragon description generated at Seventh Sanctum [link] , which was centered around a green dragon, who liked to help non-draconic races and had a hoard made of historical documents/maps. So of course, he had to be a university teacher
I'm still not sure how he'll manage to give that scroll to her. Or did she somehow give it to him? XD

Little Jackie paper loved that rascal puff,
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. oh

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on puffs gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow whene'r they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flag when puff roared out his name. oh!

Dragons live forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant strings make way for other toys.
One sad night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave,
So puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. oh!

I can imagine the boy in the back corner being Jack (from the beanstalk story) and the girl being Rapunzel. As if this is where all storybook characters went before the big event that got them into the books.

The way I normally approach something detailed is to do it over a period of time - digital painting is quite useful, because lots of details are implied and not fully rendered. It makes it look more detailed than it really is, if that makes sense XD

The art is so detailed and there is such a mystical and fantasy feel to it that just make me want to know more about the world in general and Β I find it just an awe inspiring piece of art and I LOVE IT!!!!!!
