With summer almost ending I figured I try my hand at a swimsuit pic. Decided to take it a step further and included some pool toys.

Here we have Leah from Shimmer and Shine in her human swimsuit as well as putting on water wings, getting ready for a day at the beach!

Art wise, I tried mimicing the art style used in S&S and I gotta say, while the body, clothes, and floaties look good, the face and the hair were iffy to say the least. I tried doing what I did for www.deviantart.com/kawaiiprinc… which was create multiple layers each for a body part and soft shade since I guess that's what they actually did for the 2d art style. Probably didn't help that I was sick a couple of days ago and this was done as a means to try and get used to drawing on a tablet again! Despite it, I'm really glad how the detailing came out for the swimsuit and floaties.

Speaking of floaties, the ones Leah has hear are based on actual floaties used for merchandise for the show. i.ebayimg.com/images/g/hTEAAOS…
It took me a while to do it because I wanted to make sure the detailing was just right. Had to search for the individual parts like the water wings, inner tube, and beach ball, which thankfully their were sellers on Ebay who took high res pics of the floaties to act as refrence. Though you might be asking why Shimmer and Shine are not on them. Simply for 2 reasons. Leah's the one with the stuff and by logic, Shimmer and Shine are real people so it would be kinda strange to have them on stuff like floaties and such. Plush I had difficulty just getting the simple shapes on non flat surfaces, especially at weird angles. I did all of it by hand despite using Photoshop, and yes I was aware of the disort and warp transformations but still...

Also if you're gonna ask why Leah's hair in a pony tail despite wearing her human clothes, I've seen the refs and the hair got in the way when looking at the sides. I kinda want to show off the swimsuit as much as possible.

Had a discussion with in reguards to the swimsuit design. We were discussing how Leah's human swimsuit looked kinda innappropriot for a child so we came up with alternative designs.
