Poor Kabuto, the reason why he's being mean to Naruto is that he doesn't want him to experience the pain and suffering like he did when he was Naruto's age.

i think it's more of Kabuto thinking "stupid kids and their stupid decisions, why don't they just stop and think?" thinking more of himself as he too was just a kid and did a major stupid decision in the past, and since he repeatedly told naruto that it wasn't his fight and told him to butt out, kabuto just thinks it'd be best if naruto paid the consequences like he did

But that's not true! If he wanted Naruto to pay the consequences, then why did he hesitate on episode 93? or like he protected Naruto from that trap on 35 and team Oboro's attack on episode 36? explain that to me?

he...didn't. he came at Naruto with a chakra scalpel AND a kunai, shredded his heart muscles, and even beat him beforehand. Repeatedly he told naruto to stay out of the fight and told him flat out not to try anything or he'd kill him, which he almost did. as for helping him back in the chunnin exams, it was to help gather data for Orochimaru...he need to help Naruto so that his team could advance in the exam because of Sasuke...it wasn't to genuinely help.

but gawd, yes thank you for that! Kabuto is one of the most underrated and unfairly hated characters in the series and people just can't seem to grasp that's a really good character in the story...hoping that changes soon. but -sigh- people will be people

YES thank you! precisely what i was aiming for. cuz both seemed like lost in who they where and why the things around them happened. Difference was Naruto just did whatever for himself by himself, kabuto however kinda had to have someone tell him who he was suppose to be/who he was. In the end it was all jealousy for naruto . v.

What are your hopes for him? Kabuto's future, I mean.
I'm hoping that he wanders back to the orphanage, or Urashi finds him and takes him back, and is all like, "You idiot. You're late for bed. It's past nine o'clock."

omg stop right there you're gonna make me cry picturing that scene
but gaaaawd. I kinda am hoping that he just wakes up in general, metaphorically and literally. His stubbornness is going to leave him there to rot if he doesn't, either he comes to terms with his mistakes or someone reaches out to him would be nice. I also do hope that he meets back up with the orphanage and or Urushi, because why mention him/them at all in the story? That would be a waste :C
but then i also kinda sorta want him to go back with Orochimaru, or like Orochimaru to come back to him to knock some sense into him. That way Kabuto can realize that, with Orochimaru still alive, what an idiot he was in trying to make an identity for himself by using the traits of other people. And then just the two of them kinda getting back and helping Kabuto find his own self but in a more honest way...?

Yes, he really needs to wake up. You don't find your identity in someone else, but in yourself. You make who you are. You are not defined by what happens to you, but what you choose to do with what happens to you.
I wouldn't mind him reuniting with Orochimaru, and it would be a waste to show Urashi without following up with something more about him.
Orochimaru sorta just flipped sides pretty darn quickly though. I was like, "Wait..what?!" And lol at the same time too when he was all like, "Hey, Karin, you should join Sasuke too!"

YES. THANK YOU. omg yeeesss someone who also shares the idea of Nonou probably being alive! i always think back on it from time to time because honestly, it was a quick slash to the torso and Kabuto was already starting to heal her. THERE HAS TO BE A POSSIBILITY THAT MOST OF THE WOUND HEALED. EVEN JUST A LITTLE, THOSE NINJA WOULD HAVE SENT HER TO GET SOME MEDICAL AID
