AU History: Crovan’s Gate Works was expanding in 1925 and so the Fat Director had ordered an engine from Cuba from a sugar mill to help out to shunt coaches, trucks and engines to be repaired. Victor didn't really speak much english when he first arrived but over the years he learned the language of his new home and has spoken it ever since as well as his native language too. His first word of English was "red," as that was the colour he chose to be repainted in.
Victor now works at the Sodor Steamworks (As it was renamed recently) and is always busy finding, delivering or collecting parts and supervising activities around the yard. He works closely with the diesels who eventually handle much of his previous jobs there, particularly Geoff. He is a wise and friendly engine who is always ready to help his friends, though he does not tolerate any nonsense.

(Now this may seem unusual, but in this AU, Victor retains his Standard Gauge arrangement as oppose to how we know him as Narrow Gauge, plus him in a usually Diesel populated works is rather what makes him the odd one out, despite him burning oil as a fuel source.)
