Description AU History: Built in 1880 as the last of his class, Jake mainly worked on the London and North Western Railway, until he was bought in 1910 by the newly merged Tidmouth, Wellsworth & Suddery Railway, becoming their No.11, though this position would only last for four years till the founding of the North Western Railway, when all the Pre-Grouping lines would be merged into one whole network. Jake mainly assisted in the expansion of Tidmouth Harbour into a more worthy international port for Ocean-going vessels, alongside his friend Curtis, an Ex-W&SR Locomotive. Both worked so well along the docksides, that they were both sold to the newly formed Tidmouth Harbour Board to shunt trains around the port. Jake being the oldest of the duo knew what time trains come into and out of the docks, and always knew how to get it done, even when he was ill. Mostly he would be responsible for getting the Flying Kipper ready before 5AM each morning, before Henry would arrive. Overtime though he became the firm voice of reason around the port as newer, more modern engines began arriving into the roster of the Board, doing his best to teach them how to do things the right way round, even knowing that one day he may no longer be needed.

That would indeed come by the 1950s, as he and Curtis were entirely worn out (Mostly having small patches of rust because of the sea air.) Jake felt certain they were to be scrapped, but glad at least that the port was in good buffers, but he was in for quite a surprise when he was sent to the railway museum at Vickerstown for only a cosmetic restoration to LNWR Colours. Though this wasn’t the rest he was expecting, Jake is however happy to be enjoying his well deserved retirement.

(Of most companies on Sodor, I often liked the idea of Tidmouth having one with powers over the port, notably the Tidmouth Harbour Board being a homage to TheUnluckyTug, with its livery another Homage to 'Sudrian Histories'. I also made Jake rather the most experienced when it came to sorting out trains on the quaysides in his prime, aside from being an in-joke.)
