Description Oh good grief. I got carried away with the effects.

Anyways, here's my tribute to the Lackadaisy Comics. (it's sad that I'm drawing my own characters instead of the actual characters from Lackadaisy, I know. But even sadder are my attempts to draw those actual characters.)
Set in early 20th century America (more specifically, the Roaring 20s), Lackadaisy is a hilarious, mysterious, and endearing story about a dying speakeasy empire, Lackadaisy - featuring anthropomorphic felines. Moonshiners, alcohol-runners, mobsters, voodoo, pig farmers, Molotov cocktails, and magical beings beneath emerald hills other really amazing stuff that even you history-haters would love (like rocks - hahaha).

... I hope I don't sound like a creep.

To my regular viewers, do not fear. I'm still working on my own things along with IB shmuckle-fuckles. (And while you're waiting for whatever the heck you're waiting for, you might as well read Lackadaisy. Or study. Which I should be doing right now.)

------ You should run now - I'm going to talk about my character -------

You guys have no idea how much fun it is for me to come up with background stories and bios. I need to stop indulging myself and study.

Jacqueline "Jacq" Buckner was born in 1901 in New York, New York (which I recently found out was also the birthplace of one of the Lackadaisy characters, Mordecai, btw). She has a twin brother names Jillian, but she calls him Jill. Believe it or not, she has been a criminal since she was twelve (almost fined for disrupting public property in her attempt to bury a rat killed by her brother or some neighbor in the tenements). She runs alcohol from Canada down to Chicago during the Prohibition era with her brother Jill in a car modified to reach speeds of 75 mph.

Jacq (pronounced "Jack") can be just as impetuously silly as her brother. She is also sweet and kind-hearted, but not psycho about guns (like Freckle is). Although she has a lot of fun speeding away from the police with bullets ricocheting off her sideview mirrors, she always comes down with moral qualms, feeling extremely guilty and wondering how her dead mother would react and thinking about her father (explained here: [link] ). In that sense, Jacq is a terrible criminal.

Jacq hopes that she could one day have enough money to restart the family restaurant her parents lost earlier in her life (explained here: [link] ). She also wishes to go to college.

But with a record like hers, what are the chances of that happening?

Background for both Jacq and Jill is explained here: [link]
Yes. It's the same link I've been putting up throughout the whole spiel.

Oh yeah. Jacq usually wears some boot-things but I can't draw shoes I wanted to showcase the coloring of her feet.

Maybe I'll do Jill's pic in the next Physics class.

Jacq's design is based off of my friend's cat, Mystic: [link]

Ah, Lackadaisy! I love that comic! >.<

It's amazing how you could capture the style and the sepia tone!
I could easily imagine her in a Lackadaisy panel.

It's even more amazing that it's traditional. '-'
Those eyes, that shine!... The technique is amazing!

This is nothing short of gorgeous, KOOZ.

I know it's a very grand statement, and one you may not agree with with (knowing how self critical you can be), but I absolutely love this. The rough media, the style, the sepia tone, everything.

I pegged the style the moment I saw your earlier sketches (I've had a few run-ins with Lackadaisy comics in the past), and I feel you've interpreted and represented the style brilliantly in your own way. The backstory you formulated is also both engaging and believable.

Hurray, alcohol running from Canada...!

Lovely work once again, KOOZ. You never fail to impress.

The IB Shackles...

I remember those.

I passed IB with JUST enough points to get the diploma... 24 points and the only reason I got an extra point is how well I did on my TOK essay. Then again, I never studied so the fact that I passed IB was like a giant middle finger to all the other kids in my class who tried so hard.

But now it's you're turn to suffer... IB TESTING WEEKS...

What higher levels are you taking? If they're similar to mine, I might be able to give you an idea of whats to come (scare the crap out of you).

And now I'm reading the Lackadaisy comics non-stop, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm leaving for college real soon, oh the horror. But really, thanks for the recommendation for the comics. Charming characters, unique humor, and I'm starting to get the hang of the historical aspect.

I do especially love Viktor and Freckles. As well as Rocky's "vibrant" expressions that scare Wick senseless.

Indeed, with the biographies of Jacq and Jill, they would fit right into the Lackadaisy atmosphere, especially when in the similar art style you've demonstrated here. You've developed an intriguing duo, I should say. Well thought out and deep. Something that hours of studying won't accomplish.

So in short, lovely.

Again, amazing work...
Love the use of the sepia-ish tone, really makes it look like a half-faded photograph!
...I'd say so much more, but I really can't find the right words to say it without sounding repetitive. Suffice to say it really, really is incredible.

Along with the bio... keep on writing, I'm just as addicted to reading them. Those little details that you put in (both stories and drawings) really make them come alive.

Sepia, that's the word I was looking for.

Well, too late for mentioning that though.

Sepia photos are old, that's entirely the point. XD

On hindsight maybe that sentence doesn't make much sense, but ah well.
