I turned the canvas to make them level, the hillside is actually almost 45 degrees...level made for a more comfortable view but I notice the babies muscles are bunched...

You poor dear! You must've suffered so much to get this shot! How many millions of miles did you hike to get this?

WEll, I must say that I had no idea that deer would eat poison oak. I sure wish they'd head my way. I hate the stuff and it grows oh so abundantly in our verdant south!

They nibble on it...and unfortunatly I think they also spread it by the seeds in their poop....we really need to borrow some goats

I'd love to have a goat or two, but I live in a small city. No livestock allowed. Not that I need yet another animal in my house, anyway. Poison oak is a bane here. It grows everywhere and remedies for poison oak rash are as common as rocks. Very few of them actually work, however...

I know about the "remedies" too...my husband doesn't get it but my daughter and I both do...sadly the cats occationally bring in some of the oils on their fur or feet We've both gotten it on the insides of our arms and last summer I got it up in my armpit and around to my back (like I'd picked up a cat and tucked her under my arm....) gaaaa that was a mess! The cats got baths several times last summer so far only little spots this summer...

I have found that if I think I've been exposed to poison oak, a good hot shower is the best preventative, and then an alcohol swabbing of the area is quite useful. And then, of course, any antihistamine can help once you've already gotten it. But, in my experience, nothing helps with the infernal itch! I'm fairly resistant, which means I don't blister up with it, but one of my daughters and my husband have horrible blisters upon blisters when they get it. Ick! It's a scourge!

I got the blisters last summer, none so far this year I've known I was suseptible since I was a kid (Girl Scout hikes) and so I had avoided it until our move and kitties combined...

We use a wash called "Tecnu" - it really works well when you know you've been exposed, but the problem is we never know when the cats have it on their fur!!! And I'm NOT going to quit petting and holding them I use the alcohol swabbing too, that seems to make it not blister and go away faster...The Tecnu labs also make an anti-itch that works pretty well called "calagel"

Yes, I've seen that. Certainly less unsightly than the old Calamine lotion.
