I finally got the shot in reality that I created in "Layers of Deer" [link] Another viewing from my diningroom window
This mom and baby have been hanging around a lot lately. Poor mama has obviously tangled with something - maybe barbed wire - she's got lots of wounds...

Life contiues...weather is hotter than I'm used to but we're adapting - 95 seems 'not so bad' when compared to 105! We've had several mid/upper 80's days recently that are 'balmy'

hard to wake up, but harder to sleep when 'cooling off' means 80's...I'm used to living near the ocean where even if it got up into the 100's it still cooled off to the 50's or 60's...sigh, the price for 8 acres and awesome views

I admit it has a permanent place on the bench by the front door, with my daughter's right next to it!!! Now whenever someone yells "Come here QUICK" we no longer even ask "bring the camera?" we just grab

they're back today - and resting in the long grass at the edge of our clearing. We'll stay away from that side of the house

They were back again this morning...mama was walking pretty stiffly. She resting down in the shade - we have no dogs to worry her and we'll stay away from that side of the house

Then she probably will be fine... might ask the rescue folks though about what would indicate a problem.

Good idea, she seems to be walking and moving ok, maybe a bit slowly... we've got a couple of pairs that wonder through - Cait and I don't think we've seen these before or at least not as often as another whom we recognize by mama's notched ear. We'll try to keep an eye on them - maybe put out a large tub of water...

We're lucky to have these beauties wandering our property. They (or at least a single female) come down the hill onto the driveway and munch on some of the plants along the front of the house - these were down off the side. I love having these views
