aww! how fun Stray chicken are not a common occurrence, I would think!

Our first house "came" with a chicken and we've had one or two off and on since...we've got three right now - my daughter named them: Cajun, Pepper & Honey Mustard. I thought she was choosing types of potato chips but she told me a year or so later that she was naming them for ways of cooking chicken She really didn't want them and thought they wouldn't last at our new home (we've got hawks, coyotes, foxes and bobcats around) but we've had them for three years now and no problems!!

We have neighbors with chickens (none that live directly next to us) but this is the first time a chicken came in, wasn't claimed, and stayed.

That is AWESOME!!! Ours is named Marcie, after the Peanuts character. She has dark brown feathers and is really smart. What's kind of funny is I'm going into Criminal Justice and there is a "Marsy's Law" (Victim's Bill of Rights). Didn't know about it until we covered it in class.
