I was searching for these a couple of weeks ago out in Othello, but didn't find any. But then went the following weekend and got them! Such cute owls.

At the zoo they have another display where there are 6 babies

That is the difficult part of shooting at the zoo...those darn fences! I'm guessing you already know this, but just in case you didn't, if you get as close as possible to the fence, you can make it almost disappear in your image. But many times they make the fence far away from you (probably so you can't stick your fingers in there!)
I am going to go back to Othello in mid-April (I hope) and hopefully will find the little burrowing owls!

yeah, I know the trick...just this particular zoo isn't set up well for that at all ): At almost every display the space to the "screen/fence" is at least five feet from the closest people can get so unless the animal is far away in the cage there's no way to get the grid to fade...it works well on a couple shots (like my Snooze) but mostly it just gets in the way.
Mid-April is baby time how fun!!
