I took my time on this. Usually I will draw the piece about 3 times, refining the drawing at each stage but on this I did it 4 times. This allowed me to really refine the details. I really like having a refined drawing before I go into the painting process. While painting allows me to do a lot of things with colour, I need to focus on getting those colours right and if i have to worry also about correcting details it just becomes a struggle.
Since I had a nice refined drawing to work with the painting process was more relaxed and I really took my time with this since I was enjoying the process. Again I’m paying particular attention to my paintings of hands. They’ve improved massively over the last ~10 paintings and I’ll be continuing to pay extra attention to them over the next few paintings.
