Apologies to all my commissioners: this has been eating my time lately instead because MARK MELTZER NEEDS MORE RECOGNITION, man.For all but the three of you who might actually recognize who he is:
Mark is the protagonist from There's Something in the Sea , which is an ARG (alternate reality game) that happened as part of the viral marketing campaign between Bioshock 1 and 2. He's an average guy whose daughter is abducted, and from that point he chases a paper maze trail that eventually leads him to Rapture. If you pay attention in Bioshock 2, you come across the end of his journey. HE'S AWESOME OKAY.
Also for the three of you who do know what SitS is: that's Benny Stango in the upper right, awwyeah. Yes I know Lutwidge would technically make more sense as a fellow antagonist with Sofia, but I like Benny better SO THERE. :>
Man there is so much stuff in this thing that I want to blather about, but all of it is full of spoilers. Like why the Big Daddy is a Rumbler instead of the Rosie EVERYONE draws. And who the Little Sister is. /flails
...this is ultimately all ~triumph-forks ' fault. ♥ ♥ ♥

I feel bad for this guy.
I mean, he just wanted to save his daughter and he ended up becoming a Rumbler Big Daddy :/
And then you have to kill him in order to get his Little Sister, seriously I felt very sorry for Mark.

Talk about a badass. I found out about There's Something in the Sea later. When I went through the archive and then started paying attention in the game proper... he's just awesome

I didn't see there's something in the sea. (I actually thought it was supposed to be a game based novel when I first heard of it.) But his audio diaries in the game fascinated me. I wanted to find out as much of his story as I could while playing. To be honest, I felt sorry for that guy! I make it a point to find and save EVERY little sister, and for one of them you actually have to go through him to do it. Guy dealt with so much crud, finally found his daughter, had to become a Big Daddy in order to be with her and... I just feel sad every time I end up fighting him and finding his last audio diary.

On the other hand, for your average guy, HE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO MADE IT THROUGH RAPTURE WITH JUST A REVOLVER.

I heard his screams through the door and me being an idiot I didn't try going through the doors to get to him (then again, I was trying to rescue or gather with a Little Sister at the time if I remember).
But then when I saw him as a Rumbler, I was heartbroken. Even though I assume I'll get a good ending, I still want Lamb to pay for all the death she's caused. And that voice of her's; the voice actress does an excellent job in making a villain you could hate.

I'd strap her to ten thousand pounds of TNT, then hand Mark his pistol and ask him to shoot.

And then we put the fire out with Winter Blast, melt her, cover her in Insect Swarm then let Grace Holloway and everyone else living in her are hang Lamb from a streetlight.

* Handyman picks up Steinman, baring his teeth in a manic grin. His teeth are all metal blades, crisscrossed together in a mesh, like a medieval lawn mower.*
" I'm a cheap jerk. And I had one med nut touch me. I'm not letting another take a knife to my neck again."

Songbird: *SCREEECH* (MORE!)
Booker: Geez, that bird is greedy.

Elizabeth: *Hears a knock on the door and blushes* He's here!

( Yup. I am happy about one thing though regarding it....Columbia isn't deleted from history. It still exists. The main game acts like Columbia was a fluke that was scrubbed out.
Love that city. The ocean is my least favorite place on Earth, mainly because I'm a Geo nut.)

I have to say, no desrispect to Delta but I REALLY think Meltzer should have either been the main chacter in Bioshock two, or have a much bigger part. I can even fit Delta in, "You're in one of the air shafts when suddenly the floor gives way and you fall down into a partily flooded room and fall unconsisous, when you come to you see a big daddy looming over you, he's not like any other you've seen before. You draw you're pistol before you realize somthing, he hasn't tired to kill you and he had all the opertunity too, and more importantly he dosen't have a little sister. 'Well here goes nothing' so think to you're self and start talking to the big daddy 'Hay there big guy! You got a name?" the big daddy is silent, he holds up his hand, showing you the symbol on his glove. You have to think about it for a while but then all that greek in collage comes flooding back 'Delta, is that you're name?" the big daddy nodes, well as much as he can in that get up. Seeing as he can understand you you go on "I came to Rapture to find my daughter, I don't sapose you can help?" the big daddy seems to perk up at the word daughter 'So you looking for you're daughter too?" the big daddy nodes, then an idea comes to you 'How about this Delta, you help me find my daughter, and I help you find your daughter.' the big daddy holds out his and you shake it 'okay then, it's a deal.'" There you go, again it's just my opinion but I stand by it.

Wow! I'm stunned! That audio diary with Mark and Sophia in Bioshock 2 made me stop and go "No waaaaay!" It's just something you miss if you aren't paying attention.

Yeah I missed it too the first time. I felt really sad when I found out about it because in the beginning I thought you'd get to rescue him or something like that.

Too bad Sophia Lamb got to him first. But when you hear him near the carousel in Dionysis Park, I thought that he'd been killed. Now it sums it all up. I still don't like having to kill him.

about time Mark was Recognized, I was rooting for the man every time i found one of his audio dairies, and even Rushed when i heard his voice in Dionysus Park. It a shame how he finally did get reunited with his daughter.
