Hai everyone! Okay so this was a commission/ Sketch Request I did for my good friend Jason. Jason loooves to challenge me with new or 'Bet no ones ever asked you for'He has a large collection of my Harley Quinn work so he asked for Mary Dahl aka Baby Doll. I cannot take credit for the pose- as fellow DA member :icon rogerbacon: was the only high resolution image image of Baby I could find. Thankfully he drew Mary not Baby. [link] but see? Isn't that beautiful?
I looked at his pose for Mary mostly to get proportion right then went to work mixing the BTAS style from her first appearance in "Baby Doll" to her TNBA style for "Love is a Croc"
I went with the more "Baby Doll" look and went from there. Added to the "I feel dirty for drawing a 30 year old who looks like a 5 year old with a sexy look" was the fact that I was watching "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" the whole time.... ew.
Done on X-Press It Blending Card (thank you :icon raenlen: ) with Copic Sketch Markers over Copic SP Multi Liner, over BIC Mechanical.
Total time: 3 hours.
PS I have no idea if that is a Baby Quote- but I heard it in her voice in my head and it sounded like her speech pattern.
BABY DOLL is licence property belonging to DC Comics.

I have to laugh at your comment about feeling like a dirty 30 year old drawing a 5 year old girl yet we all know if there's one thing she's not is a cute little girl in any sense of the word. However, most of us do feel bad about the rotten life she had and in one pix I read that it's been 4 years since she's been shown (who knows how old that post was lol). Maybe someone can show her getting married & her life turned around for the better for a change but that would not be sensational enough for Hollywood, even in cartoons. lol I might as well imagine her hooking up with Batman & secretly married to Bruce Wayne for as much good me wishing Baby Doll a happy ending. Terrific drawing by the way.

I've recently started putting together a Killer Croc cosplay and I'm thinking about getting a Baby Doll "tattoo" on Croc's hide- faux crocodile leather, something like that.
This would make a nice starting point, for a kind of navy pin-up kind of design.

She's a tragic villain... born with a rare disease that prevents her from aging, not having a successful career after your show gets canned and envious of your other co-stars that have moved on. I consider her a tragic villain and that's why I love Baby Doll. You want to laugh at her because she's nuts but then you pity her because of all the crap she went through. I saw both the Top 11 BTAS episodes and the Familiar Faces Crossover Review Starring Nostalgia Critic and CR. These two alone show how much I feel sorry for her.

Well, don't feel too bad, she thirty and you did give her the figure of an actual female XD I know how you feel tho, I know how you feel. It turned out great. I really like how you mixed different styles of the show, with the eye color and the hairstyle and made her look child-like without looking like Elmyra.

Yeah, I actually found somewhere where someone posted production pics of Elmyra and she toooootally looked different. Actually more like I assume Babydoll would look (without of course the Elmer Fudd face xD) Considering she is actually an adult.

I recall a funhouse scene in one of her appearances. As she walks past each mirror, she sees a different variation of herself including one of her as an adult. I think she shot up the mirrors in some emotional reaction to the last reflection.
She made a forced reunion of her costars from her one hit wonder television show. Her more mature performances were never taken seriously despite their artistic merit. It is the condition that lef ther in a permanent child looking state that made playing roles older than her child appearance impossible.
Her costars prospered in their own ways while she became a footnote. Another example of a life that could have been less criminal if only people had not shunned her due to a condition she never wanted, but lived with anyway.
Baby Love was her only appearance in TNBA or so I remember. She partners with Killer Croc. Honestly his BtAS design was actually the scarier of the two though both pale in comparsion to his design in Arkham Asylum and Dwells In Darkness in the Batman: Gotham Knight anthology. Now that's a Croc you'd run from if you were anyone other than Batman. Well even he had to run from Croc in Asylum though it was a trap laid out for the Croc.
Hangman Scarecrow in TNBA was the most disturbing redesign though his most mentally jarring episode was really the byproduct of his fear gas. Over The Edge to this day is one of my favorites because it is realistic right up to the end despite learning its just a nightmare. The scariest ones are the always ones that really could come true given the circumstances that could happen.
