Description The 'Aquila' heavy transport skywagon.

Although conceived in the last years of the 2nd Empire, the Aquila did not go into production until the advent of the 3rd Republic.

Designed for the Sky Legions by S.Drusus.Sulla, the Aquila could carry 30-40 legionaries as well as all their equipment and supplies. An entire Cohort could be transported by as few as 12 of these workhorses of the air.

Though slow, and vulnerable to ground fire, the Aquila's rugged reliability has passed into aviation legend.

The Aquila remained in production from 1631 to 1649, and was in active service throughout the Roman Empire for 40 years. (Some hardy veterans were still flying as late as the beginning of the Bund Wars).

I'd be happy to send you the model. Its in .3dm (Rhinoceros 3D format) but I can convert in into a range of other options, .3DS for example. I cannot supply the textures, they are long gone. But the geometry is there (around 32 Mb) Just give me a place to send it

Is that actually meant to be used in a game? It's very interesting, and I've always loved the idea of ancient-like planes from alternate continuities. Very well done!

You seem very good at modelling, really. May I ask you to do some work for this indie game? [link]

Do you have an established date for the advent of flight?

1631 to 1649??? the dates seem a little awkward....because they couldnt fly yet around that time and they had no engines....like your model shows....how is this possible? Or are the dates 1931 to 1949?

Alternate Histories...

What may have happened if the curse of organized religion hadn't wrapped it's ugly claw around the creative minds and progressive urge of the Ancients.
