The Lady had just told everyone of Moni's capture. Keara zoned out, and was completely caught up in a recent memory...

"How has your research been going, Moni?" Catori and Moni were standing together, chatting away.
"Oh, it's been fine." Moni said, "Nothing major."
"Nothing major? Psh, I'm sure you're doing something cool, tell me about something you've been working on!"
"Uhm....well...."
Keara had been eavedropping for a little while now and decided to try and join the conversation.
"Oh! You're doing research, eh Moni?? Hear you're in college for Oceanography. I went to college for a little while but honestly??? I didn't like it, everyone was just not on my level. Kinda like talking to walls, hah!
Moni gave Keara a look, "I find college very engaging."
"Ah, well nothing wrong with liking it. I'd love to hear about your research, go on with what you were sayin'?"
"....I was working with some starfish not too long ago..."
"Oh, Asteroidea?"
".....yes, and they were getting sick...."
"Densovirus?"
".....yes." Moni sighed, "Catori, I think I'm gonna go. We can talk more later." Moni barely glanced at Keara as she walked off.
Catori paused for a moment before turning to Keara, ".....uhm......that was a little rude, Keara."
".....hm? Rude? I just wanted to be apart of the conversation."
"But you were kiiiinda upstaging her."
"......?"
Catori sighed, "Keara, we're friends, so I'm going to be honest with you. You're kind of a know it all sometimes."
"Of course I am, I know all sorts of things, my library is huge and..."
"....that's not what I mean. You kinda use your intelligence to talk down to people, and people don't like it when you do that."
"............" Keara's eye's widened, "......oh lord I've been a bad person haven't I??"
"N-no! You're not a bad person Keara, you just need to know when to take a step back and listen to others. Appreciate their brain as much as we appreciate yours, okay? Now how about you apologize to Moni?"
"O-okay."

"C-catori, I never got tah say sorry! What if we don't get her back?? What if she dies?? I have to say sorry!!'
Catori took Keara by the shoulders and looked her in the eyes, "Keara, we will get her back. Don't you doubt that for a single second. And when we do you can give her that apology."
"B-but...!"
"No buts! Everything is going to be okay. Moni is strong and so are we. You have to believe that."
".......o-okay, I trust you."
Catori pulled Keara into a hug. After they parted, Keara did what she always did. She went back to the lab.

This isn't as long as I would have liked, but school takes up most of my time. Maybe I can beef it up another day 8D It's hard to write smart people because well.....I'm not super smart LOL
