Sketch of my creature. his name is Kisuk XD i have no idea why.
i just love him to bits. lol. weird.
anyways, he's a skeleton swamp creature. His head crest is set with array of different feathers (no colour here, just grayscale for now) and mossy weeds and grasses. His neck is a skeleton (duh) but bits of fur and weed clumps underneath, basically in the core of this skeleton thing is the fur stuff. his shoulders and hips are clearly covered in fur but his rib cage instead encloses fur and mossy grasses, twigs and leaves. His tail is actually in the structure of mangrove roots with filaments of moss on them. at the top end of his tail there is a "rooster-tail-feather" like thing with sticks and leaves as well. This is his actual "tail", whereby he expresses his awareness to the surroundings. Just like roosters, this "tail" can be rustled up to threaten etc. the long mangrove root like tail is practically useless and therefore mostly just ploughs the mud as he trudges along. His legs also have these feather ornaments and his "paws" are actually root-like in swampy water. but when he gets onto drier land, they turn into claws with a long up-curved dew claw.

When wind blows through his skeletal ribs, it creates an eerie chime sound as well as its long strands of fur, feathers and leaves swishing in the wind, allowing it to camouflage into the dense swamp forests. Generally, he creates a veil of mist to hide himself as well as serve as his hunting techniques since he has such a sluggish speed. He is actually blind, relying on sound and smell. With the mist, it actually aids him in scanning for warmer blooded creatures (certain poikilothermic creatures can have warm temperature therefore he is also able to detect certain lizards and such). Creatures usually stay away from this dangerous creature.

Basically it is a legend that it uses its root like legs to wrap and bind around prey while they're trapped in the mist. With such mystical rumours, more and more people set out to find this beast, to slay it as a prize. they always leave to the most cool and damp areas in search but over the years the beast has taken note of peopl and learnt that keeping away is a better option. The bid for the creatures large crested skull is high, the forest now more dangerous than ever.

wow. rant much. but its fun making up stories. haha. this dude is just part of the story i'm planning. i still need to plan out the areas atmosphere and stuff.
