This is yesterday's doodle of the day - I drew it late last night - but I'm thinking maybe it'll count for both yesterday and today if I don't get something else done tonight.
I have to say, I really, really like this. I finally got something done that focuses on composition and not just the figure and fashion design - not that there's anything wrong with those pieces.
I just think that from a professional design standpoint, this is probably the best thing I've done in a long, looong time. 
I know it isn't quite October yet. Whatever.
edit: I wanted to submit this as a print so I decided to spiff it up by adding some really spectacular gradients. sorry if it sucks now.

Colors match well. It looks like something that would be on a t-shirt design. I like it, but for some reason, it is not my type. And for that reason, I cannot degrade you on that. I do not think that it is fair to critique someone on the style that they have. That is like making fun of someone for how they talk.

Thanks! I'm trying really hard to expand back out into traditional media because that's what I've always done; I only picked up CGing a couple years ago and I feel like I've kind of gotten stuck in it since then.

lol yeah its adicting since it becomes easier to use and less stressful when it comes to editing the colors or image so it's really understandable. *hugs* you have nice tallent for both medias take care!

love it and i love october! its 78 degrees here right now so it still feels like mid-summer but i cant wait for the crisp fall weather. i see your artistic maturity in this picture as well, wonderfull job. maybe you could throw some simple fall colors on it?

I know! I am sooo excited for this fall because I was in Florida last year and I didn't get a fall at all, and it was so sad. My perception of the seasons is so messed up now too - I keep thinking it's spring.
I had thought about using some flat colors on this, but I liked how it looked just plain. I'll probably try something else in this style and experiment with nice large chunks of flat color.

The lines in her face and hair are so wonderfully sketchy but well placed.
Minimal use of cools really makes all the warm colors pop!
The red treetops and superimposed letters are probably my absolute fave.
