I am currently obsessed with Les Miserables, and cannot wait for the movie to come out! Meanwhile, I am channeling my obsession into my art. This is a charcoal portrait of Russell Crowe as Javert. I also used a small amount of ink and black watercolor.Related content

It is stunning! I love how you faded the shades that much, and still keep the shadows that thick and black! You have a very interesting and admirable style, I love it!

Thank you so much! That's where the black watercolor comes in, it's great for keeping dark shadows in place, whereas charcoal tends to smudge and fade. I'm glad you like it!
