Description
this was inspired by the work of Paul Bonner. I think he has the perfect style for painting trolls,and dwarves.The background could be better, but the main focus was the troll.

This is great. You've really captured an awesome atmosphere and character with this piece. I especially like the guarded and curmudgeonly ( if that's a word) expression and posture. Great detail around the eyes and horns too. Paul Bonner is a great inspiration to me as well. His Riotminds stuff blows me away

Thank you Trilliant. Yep, Out of the Forest is a GREAT buy! I am hoping over the next year to do a short story painted in this style and have it printed in an anthology with some other artists. It will give me an excuse to study Bonner's work even more than I do now. I am really happy that he came out with the book and has his website going. For awhile, the only place to find his work were the annual issues of Spectrum.

Yeah, Spectrum is where I first took an interest in Bonner. The thing I really like about your OldTroll is how it is a scene from a "Bonner World" but not mimicking Bonner's brush stroke for stroke. It a view, not a copy. That really caught my eye.
Good luck with the short story. Please keep me posted on the progress. I'd really be excited to see more of your work.
