Description First project for my "Digital Design 2" class. The primary function of the assignment was to get us to become more familiar with InDesign and PANTONE colouring, but I kind of went crazy with the background illustration for my cover, as you can see above! The final cover was supposed to be duotone (and it was), but I thought "screw that, that's boring", so I designed this in colour first and then changed it to duotone for the final!

If what you see above was meant to simply be a poster, I would have put a larger effort in to play with meaning and feeling of the type, but it wasn't, so that is somewhat irrelevant.

This was the final cover:

There was many points when I thought that I was done (probably because it was due on Monday and the closing time of the print shop was approaching quickly lol), but my thirst for experimentation–if only to make small adjustments–kept me going at it. I'm fond of a lot of the versions towards the end, but my girlfriend helped by pointing out that because this was going to become duotone, it would be easier to use one of the versions with a white background; it would have been more difficult to distinguish between the background and the painted elements if it was converted to duotone.
