not 3D, its simply painted using a tablet and a software like Photoshop or similar.

well if you have a tablet, which is the most important for drawing like this, try drawing with some free software like Gimp, Open Canvas, Paint Shop Pro... Better commercial softwares include Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter (not Corel Draw).

That's so beautiful, You can see even the smallest details. Do you zoom way in when you're coloring?

yeah well depends. As you can notice that for example the wings or the guys pants arent so detaied but i enjoy detailing faces and little details like the waterdrops, her moles etc... so thats when i zoom in a lot

Actually on closer inspection, her face is exactly and I mean EXACTLY like a Lois Royo Print. You must have used it for reference? It's impossible to paint something that exactly without having copied her face. Here is a link to the Lois Royo pic I'm referring to, compare them side by side, you'll see what I mean. [link]

Yeah, as i have said, i used a reference for their faces and for bodies. This Royo's piece was reference for her face. Gackt's photo was reference for the male angel.
Of course it looks very similar, drawing from reference means trying to draw something similar as i see it on reference photo or picture, at least i think so
