It's been a while since posting anything new, but I've been working my butt off to get my novel formatted for paperback. The goal was to have it out by the end of this month so people could get it for Halloween. I'm just waiting on some proof copies, but if all goes well, it'll be ready to release within another week or so.

As for this ad, it was a composite of 5 different images put together in Photoshop. I never had the book on that patch of grass, just a bit of movie magic there. I took a bunch of photos of the ground, tinkered with the colors, comped in a different paperback (Hell House by Richard Matheson), and then swapped in my cover. I used Hell House because, like my book, it measured 6 x 9 inches. A few leaves were added, as was the text and the spooooooky red lighting.

Overall, it was an evening's worth of work and very fun to put together. The hardest part was finding the right font for the text. That took some work. I knew what I wanted, but nothing looked right. I'm happy with what I found, though I think I would've liked the text to be even a little chunkier.
