The purpose was to obtain an image with strong focus on the figure in the front.
The painting turned out darker and more blue than the original photo due to coincidental printing errors on the reference printout I used.

The focusing is perfect, the one in front is so detailed you almost think you could touch it. I actually like it better than the photo

The trick was, first of all, to blur the figures in the back. Secondly sharpen the figure in the front. The latter is done only by patience and repeating...
I let the painting dry, then partly & randomly scraped the paint from the figure in the front, painted again, let it dry, scrape,...untill I obtained a realistic effect...
