This is my on-going Colored Pencil Megazine Monthly Challenge entry

I think the reference image has a very nice composition. The interaction between those apples and cones is interesting. It's like hide-and-seek with still life, peekaboo with them. It's a still life subject yet the idea is quite dynamic from my point of view.

The new learned concepts (hue, value, and chroma) of color has helped me tremendously in this piece. I was just introduced with the "chroma" aspect of color which I had not been aware of until the week before finishing this one. "Chroma" basically means "intensity of color" or "saturation of color" or "colorfulness." I figure that only in the mid tone area of the subject would have the highest chroma. light and shadow side would be low chroma (too white or too black). I've incorporated the two new colored pencils into this piece (black and white). As a result, the final drawing has better contrast and more realistic. I'm quite happy with it. What do you think?
