Oh, come on. Putin couldn't have asked for a better U.S. President than Barack Obama. A feckless, gutless moral coward with a defined aversion to standing up for American principles and a pronounced preference for weakening America at every opportunity. It's like Putin installed the kid whose lunch money he stole every day in the White House.Β

Which is not to say I believe any of the BS about Russia "hacking" the election. Putin's just taking advantage of the situation. We're transitioning from a President susceptible to intimidation to once susceptible to flattery. A win-win for Putin.Β

There is a lot of false hysteria and outrage over the fact that the DNC was hacked, but no one is talking about what was released. We are all supposed to be upset about this now? ...Why? Because the "machine" failed to once again dupe the American people into electing the "Chosen One". "We" have not only hacked other countries and tried to influence elections but have actually destroyed them.

The idea that Russia hacked the US election is incredibly laughable. Β We should trust the CIA, an organization that has toppled democratic governments and lied for the Invasion of Iraq, simply because they say "trust us, it's Russia." Β I wouldn't be able to buy this even if I tried.

I so agree with you. Not to mention that Wikileaks proved that the CIA hacks other nations.

Oh that was something I was not surprised about at all. Β After they've done their share in toppling democratically elected governments, it's no surprise to me that they would hack them.

Indeed. I wasn't surprised either. From the CIA? I can expect anything.

But to leak info you need to hack into emails to get it.Β

Not necessarily. According to Julian Assange (WikiLeaks), the emails were leaked by an insider from the Democratic party (DNC).

Does he have any evidence to back that up or was it just word of mouth? I'd take the CIA's word over Julian's.Β

Sure, the CIA has never cheated or told a lie.

What is there to say they are lying though?Β

You got me there: The CIA Never Ever Lies.

Good thing I have my BS detector chrome extension for that link. I never said the CIA never lies, but why would you think they're lying now? What would they gain?

You should probably ask the CIA about that.

Why don't you focus on the content of those emails instead of the way they were made public? Quite some interesting stuff there, if you take the time to read them. By the way, even Obama admitted that the emails were leaked (not hacked) in his final press conference, but perhaps that was BS too?

We know the emails were leaked, to the public. It's how those emails were attained is when the hacking comes into play. Again you'd yet to give a reason for the CIA to lie. Without a motive you've got nothing to go off of. We do focus on what those emails contained, but now it's time to look at how those emails were taken and what do you know, it's Russians. Russia is the second largest group that regularly commit cyberattacks against the US, only second to China.Β

Glad to see you now agree that the emails were indeed leaked, but apparently you don't understand how this works. Any employee/insider who has access to those emails, is able to copy and/or forward them to a third party - in this case WikiLeaks. Exactly the same way as Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning did it. So why bother about the CIA? They just wanted to blame Russia for the alleged 'hacking' but failed miserably. Have a nice day!

ACommissionReviewer In reply to KeldBach [2017-01-20 18:41:51 +0000 UTC]

But they weren't leaked by an insider, we know how they hacked into the emails. It's because one of Hillary's staffers opened up an email with a link that gave the hackers a doorway into their emails. After the hackers got what they needed they just brought it over to Wikileaks and leaked it to them.Β
