More practice, only I decided to use our one and only Mara Jade instead of the other characters that will appear in my future comic. (There's a chance that Mara will make a minor appearance as a child in the comic, though that depends on how the story line shapes up.)on a side note, I finally learned how to do a passable skin tone with colored pencils! I'm so relieved, since I fought with this pic for a long time...

I'll have to read that novel, it sounds really good! All I've ever read about Mara is the books she first appeared in: the ones by Timothy Zahn (such a good author!) as well as some really well done fanfics. I loved her character ever since, she is SO perfect for Luke. (I can't imagine how he must have felt once she got killed by that double crosser Jacen! Why do almost all my favorite characters DIE???)
Thanks for the tips, I really should have left it uncolored, but I couldn't help coloring in her eyes... and the rest just sort of followed. XD I think her hair here is my favorite part, to tell you the truth, other then her expression itself. I've never done curly/wavy hair before this, and it was actually really fun to draw.

Nah--it looks great! Very good blending and tones--tough to do with colored pencils, so kudos on that! And "Allegiance" is a good read--kind of fills in a bit of Mara's past we knew little about, save from some comics... Look for it in the library--then you wouldn't have to buy it!
