What are these, exactly? Are they paintings on the bottom of real bowls and containers to give them the illusion that there's creatures swimming in them or is the whole thing, bowl included, a painting? It's just so amazingly realistic I can't tell.

They are acrylic paint over different layers of clear epoxy resin.

it's real bowls, there's resin in the bowl and they painted the fish with acrylic.
