Description Hey there, DArtists ;D

So, in the final stretch in regards to the Strangereal wars theme´s related artwork, the last war to be waged in a game gets it´s own post in my gallery with "The Leasath-Aurelia War".
Sadly, I feel like I´ve taken one step forward since my "The Usean Continental War" post and now this set me back to square one. The mistakes list and their magnitude feels to me as if it was amplified beyond reasonable limits... but, since I´m almost done with this group of artwork and want to move on soon, I tried to patch up the faultlines along the way and make this sorta presentable.
Poor Aurelia, in this post´s happier times she had a full body figure that was drawn almost to heel level and occupied the majority of the left side. But fate and perspective yet again conspired against me (in other words - I sucked hard at it X/) and, since I botched it royally, I later reverted her to Leasath´s level and now they both have a more "classic" shoulders height portrait... poor girl looked like a badly stuffed scarecrow (sorry, Aury (:/)... she still does to me, whenever I look at her shoulders´spacing... dammit. XP)
Also, I couldn´t do a serious face for Aurelia even if my life depended on it. That hat had to stay as it is, but it ruined every serious face I drew for Aurelia. So I ended up drawing that smart smirk of hers... again (every drawing I draw up for her ends with her either laughing, being all jolly or smirking either like this or like a smartass... I guess Aurelia is doomed to be happy forever in a world where wars are everywhere)
On a sorta funny side note, this being the first post where Aurelia has her hat on, for some reason, the fact that I made her a blonde girl with a tendency for having almost childish atitudes that here is drawn with a (would be if it was colored) brown hat with two visible air holes keeps making me think of Suwako Moriya from the Touhou Project. *chuckle* that hat of hers with those two big eyes on top just cracks me up ^ ^

I had a general lack of sources to work with for this post, so I had to play some things by ear... and didn´t that work well, huh? *self-directed sarcastic laugh*

As for the aircraft section, meh, I find it pretty bland, but not terrible, which, for me, is good enough not to agonise it... ´cept for that GODDAMN RAPTOR!! GODDAMMIT ALL, I STILL CAN´T PULL YOU OFF AT ALL! Thanks a bunch, cockpit, you managed to be the part I fucked up the most perspective-wise again and now the whole Raptor looks like one big perspective mess... damn, why do I suck at Raptors so bad?...
Another thing is the Apalis. I couldn´t find a proper image of it from a top view perspective (and I don´t have ACX too) and had to arrange "my" Apalis by guessing how it should look... so it probably looks off badly. I´m 95% sure the wings shouldn´t be so angled back, but, once again, I don´t have a proper image to confirm.
The Tiger IIs to the back also needed their main bodies to be more elongated from the wings back but, they aren´t as bad as the Raptor or as the Apalis may be.

Well, enough turning the "artist-me" into a mental wreck, onto the closing paragraphs:

Personified nations present are Leasath and Aurelia.

Aicraft present are Aurelian Aces Gryphus One's F-22A Raptor and Falco One´s XFA-24A Apalis breaking through a formation of three Leasath F-5E Tiger II´s.

For the guys with an eye for minor details that might have seen my other artworks of this kind - This post will go down in my gallery as one of two Strangereal war themed artworks set in Strangereal´s modern times that don´t have a plane deploying flares to evade a missile. From "The Anean Continental War" - [link] to "The Belkan War" - [link] there´s always a plane somewhere (most likely in the background) deploying flares. The only other exception is "The Circum-Pacific War" - [link]

Well then, ´done and dusted. Now I only have one more war to go. (*update* already done ^ ^)

Stay awesome, DA ;D

PS (I´m probably typing to myself here, but I´ll type anyway):

Anyone readin´ this know the movie "The Sky Crawlers"?
If you don´t and like a movie with deep philosophy behind it, a touching story, great blend between CGI and Anime and awesome dogfights then I seriously recommend it.
I found out about it when I was checking out AC games at Acepedia and found "Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces" (made by Project Aces), a game that serves as a prequel to the movie (so I suggest you watch a walkthrough of IA before watching the movie). I got intrigued and watched a walkthrough and then watched the movie proper... A-ma-zing. I found this movie to be simply breathtaking. I bet the books and the manga the movie´s based on are just as good too... too bad they´re not translated.
So, for the 2 people out of the 4 that are reading this who decided to give Sky Crawlers a go:

For the guys interested in dogfights only, here´s an awesome AMV by ReturnAceRagriz108 that includes various bits from the dogfights in the movie with great music in the mix: [link]

The walkthrough of the game/prequel (it starts slow, as usual, but it picks up the pace after the first few missions): [link]
