Description Hello once again, dames and gents of DA.

So, with all of Strangereal´s wars that were portrayed in games that I could work with done, it´s (about) time I finally post the last poster-type war-related artwork I had left to do with "The Osean War".
Now, the Osean War is indeed a canon conflict in Strangereal. Fought between Osea and Belka for reasons unspecified between 1905 and 1910, this war, the equivalent of World War 1 in Strangereal, became a turning point in Strangereal´s warfare because it marked the very first time the aircraft was used as a weapon, as well as containing the creation of the World´s first Air Force and the first major clash between Air Forces. In 1907, Belka became the first of the two to weaponize the airplane and was the first country ever to organise and deploy a proper Air Force. Though it lost the war, it´s example was followed by almost every other nation right away and, two years later, nearly every nation in Strangereal had an Air Force.

Well then, now that the history lesson is over with, onto the artwork. It is anything but perfect, but ,I dare to say, for the closing artwork of this group, it´s fairly decent. Osea´s portrait might be my favourite portrait out of all I´ve done since "The Anean Continental War" and the portrait section as a whole doesn´t have the usual rage-inducing flaws that make the "artist-me" go insane, if I may say so myself. Upon drawing Osea, I realized how flight jackets can make the main body of a character wearing them seem disproportionately wide without proper shading... but ain´t no shading hapenin´ on this gallery, drawing is hard enough for me without it, sorry. Plus, Osea actually looks as old I want him too look... not like I made him in "The Circum-Pacific War" - fav.me/d5kefpa *facepalm*. In terms of physical age, Osea is supposed to look older than Ustio and younger (and shorter) than Belka... its ironical that, compared to the post mentioned above, I made Osea look older in a war that preceedes the Circum-Pacific War by loads of decades. I had quite some fun drawing this section too because it gave me the perfect excuse to give my characters new clothes ^ ^ I did try to make them minimally relatable to their "modern" attires - Osea retains his basic national icons´ placement and his white shirt; Belka retains his old color scheme, albeit with a different officer´s cap and a new open trench coat. As a bonus, Osea now looks a lot more like America (whom he´s canonicaly based around) in Hetalia ^ ^
The aircraft section is the Achilles´ Heel of this post. Biplanes simply aren´t my cup of tea, despite my love for them. Even for the standards of the corresponding time, the Fokker Dr. 1 was a very small fighter and, furthermore, it´s wingspan was smaller than other biplanes´. So putting that together was a suicide mission for me... the ending result - the Dr. 1 came out way too elongated because I kept thinking it wasn´t long enough for the wingspan and I overdid it before I knew it. On a lesser level, the Nieuport 11, also known for being smaller than average (to the point of being nicknamed "Bebe" or "Baby"), came out way too thin... biplanes just aren´t for me :,/

As for the "cast", to be expected of a war without a game, it has nearly no named characters at all, reason why this artwork features the single smallest cast of them all... even less than "The Usean Continental War"´s - kenisi.deviantart.com/art/Ace-… . Aside from Belka and Osea, Ustio´s name is also in here because, at the time, Ustio was still under Belkan control. The only period character present here is Franklin Goernitz, a Belkan minister who realized the potential of the airplane as a weapon and became something like the political father of military aviation as a whole in Strangereal. All things considered, if he hadn´t supported the creation of the world´s first Air Force we wouldn´t have widespread Air Forces in Strangereal and, therefore, such legends as Galm 1 or Mobius 1 probably wouldn´t exist... yeah, think about it, Belka made it all happen, way back there.

It was no grand finale... but I dare to say this one was no underdog too. Plus is happens to feature Strangereal´s on-duty hero (Osea) pitted against it´s resident villain (Belka)... it´s a classic action movie formula ^ ^

OK, closing paragraphs:

Personified nations present are Osea and Belka.

Aircraft present are Belkan Falken Dr.1 (Fokker Dr(eidecker) 1)´s dogfighting against various models of Osean Davenport 11 (Nieuport 11)´s.

Though this is the last artwork of its kind I´ll be posting for the forseable future, Strangereal still has other wars without games that could warrant an artwork of their own (such as the Osean Continental War and the "Cold War" between Osea and Yuktobania, both of which also entirely canon), we´ll see what happens.

Well, I´m done here, then.
Stay as awesome as ever, DA ;D

No problem, the Fokker center prop annoys me too, but I can actually draw the pistons spinning with the prop

No, I don't mean a Fokker's prop in general, I mean that specific Fokker's propeller, it's too big and too far forward.
