If I had enough brain cells to look at Balthier and comment at the same time, I would say you did a brilliant job, and something about your shading style is just... brilliant. Refreshing? That seems the word.

Ah HAH! Finally I found this again! (For some reason, the dA search likes to hide things from me.) I ran across it ages ago, neglected to comment, regretted it, went hunting, had no luck.. then.. HAH! In the favs of someone else with good taste!

I really, really like this; you captured a side of him that we rarely see. It's not that he never smiles, it's just that he always smirks, and that always has the full force of his skeptisism and sarcasm behind it. A genuine smile is a rarity, and I think you got it perfectly.

I love it! since I am a obsessed with Balthier, but I don't think he ever smile... i think its not in his character. he seems to be more bitter and sarcastic, and angry.... all the same I LOVE IT

Your illustration of Balthier is quite charming. I realized that in the game, you don't see him smile that much (and even then, it's just barely noticeable). It's too bad, and I'm glad to see good humor in his expression in this piece. He can't be sullen and skeptical all the time.
