As the popular saying goes "Romancing Jacob is like your decisions affecting the outcome of Mass Effect 3, they just don't matter." I was okay with Jacob before, he wasn't ever invited to the bro-parties with Garrus and Shep (perhaps it was because Shep sounded like a creeper every time she talked to him), but there were a lot more squad mates that I would have sacrificed before Jacob.However, in Mass Effect 3, he pulled a pretty douche move. I never really cared enough about Jacob to romance him, but if you were among the few jacob fans I am really sorry for you. REALLY. I think what really pissed me off was his lame ass excuse. "What did you expect me to wait around forever?" FFFFFFFF you man, Kaidan didn't jump into a serious relationship during the TWO YEARS that he thought Shep was DEAD. You couldn't tough it out for the six months she was in prison. So much for your PRIZZZZZZE! I so hope that Brynn names the baby Shepard so you can be haunted all your life that your lover named your child after the woman you banged before (I seriously don't get Brynn's logic with that one, but hey revenge can be shown in many different forms)
Anywho, this angered Shep so much, it brought out Renegade Shep.

Nah, I understand. I like Garrus too. I just stuck with Kaidan because I like his voice actor (I was with Carth in KOTOR). Plus Garrus wasn't romancable at first. I also liked Wrex but he wasn't romanceable either xD

hell everyone wanted that Krogen meat if you know what i saying lol jk I guess the reason was why Garrus wasn't romancable in the first is because Turians don't like humans and bioware wanted to see how people react to Garrus and got their results that's what I think. As for Wrex....Idk he's probably more focus on Krogen breeding who knows.

The fact Shep behaved like a sex starved cat when making even the non-romancing comments to him, made me leave him at the bottom of the pile. By the time I got through both Kaidan and Garrus I was well warned off the unfaithful son of a bitch. His argument was even weaker.

It's very true. I didn't like talking to Jacob because I felt like a creeper just being nice to him, but that wasn't his fault. What happened in the third game WAS his fault though.

Same here, I went out of my way to ensure their loyalty and brought two light fighters to the final battle in ME2 (tali and samara) in order to make sure team B survived. They were surprisingly helpful at keeping the collectors off my ass while I used the Particle beam to lazor correct that abominations eyeballs. m(ΒΊβΏΒΊ )m
I'd kill Jacob off to find out, but I just don't see the point when the pay off at the end just isn't worth all the trouble. (I didn't want any of my Shepard's dying arbitrarily because someone in the Mass Effect team got major hard ons for idiotic deaths)

Sorry for those who chose Jacob. But sorry to say i saw this as a possiblitly because for me he was just hot body with the personality of burnt toast and if you go to any video for him everyone is going all Kasumi on him. Yea he's dull but his BODY. I did enjoy the line that Jacob says "I'm gonna be a better Father than mine." yea son if you can't get it from your woman for 6 months look for someone else screw feelings of love.

He does have a VERY nice body, that's for sure, but I could never take him as a serious love interest. Thank goodness I called it and saved my Shep a lifetime of heartache and woe. I thin we all know what PRIZE Jacob was going after.

Even though he wasn't popular, that wasn't an excuse for them screwing over the fans who did like him. All of the ME2 romances besides Team Dextro got screwed over, honestly, but what they did to Jacob was beyond the pale.

I've played the Garrusmance (my favorite, NGL) and the Kaidanmance (which was pretty good, too - "I lied, I didn't just want to come up for five minutes," haha), and if they'd put that much detail and attention into all the romances, no one would have any complaints, you know? Or, half the attention they shower on Liara whether or not you romance her.

I had 2 saves with his romance. one is never getting past ME2. the other... I head canoned a few things that make him seem more like Jacob and less like a dickhead bioware insisted on making him be (specifically - Shepard in question was originally with Kaidan, so in my head, Jacob finds Kaidan's picture, asks Shepard about it, realizes that she didn't really move on and so he makes sure, they get back together. because he does love her and wants her to be happy even if its not with him. that's my story and i'm sticking to it).
bastards. I liked him. and its not in character for him to just dump Shepard like that, behind her back, without even waiting to tell her first, having zero willpower like that.
blah. one good thing that came from ME3... I have finally learned how to headcanon.

far too many things that bioware gave us.. just don't make much sense :/ oh in my version? he never slept with Bryn. they are good friends, and when he see Shepard (with Kaidan along of course) come up to rescue the scientists and sees how they look at each other when they think the other isn't looking? he asks Bryn to lie for him. and later in London? he tells her the truth and apologizes. she's angry at first.. but then.. she says "thank you"
sure its a bit convoluted as well, but at least it doesn't turn him into a walking stereotype of a jerk

It would have been better if they had done it that way or at least given you the option to make it seem like that is what happened. Then I don't think people would be as angry. At the very least you get an awkward silence.

To be honest I think the thing with Jacob was just one of the things Bioware took on board when they made 3. Jacob was never really that popular and did get a lot of dislike, not so much hate, from the fans. Guess this was just their way of giving the fans a reason to dislike him.
