Heh the Tail give me the Idea that this is like a Wererat or Werepossum lol. that is the cool thing about Lycanthropy it isn't creature specific.

Anyways this picture is awesome

i don't know if i've seen this one before.
it's brillant.
the pseudo fetal position coupled with the voracious howl
adds so much thought provoking element.

it just works.

i love the way its so advanced but in a fetal position, in my eyes it contradicts its inate power with the protective postition taken when weak and vulnerable.
amazing!

That is pretty darn impressive, especially for using a tablet. I'm starting to think about purchasing one myself, though I doubt I'll come anywhere near matching that on my first attempt!

brilliance. i just don't see how u can do that with a tablet. aren't they hard to draw on?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kerembeyit In reply to tony2k4 [2004-08-01 19:21:55 +0000 UTC]

No, I begin this on PS with tablet. No pencil pre-sketches. I think It's easier and faster for rough figures, but of course I cannot draw a complicated composition with tablet only. I have to draw a sketch on a paper first. Thanks

kool...i imagine tablets to be like them big chunky kiddys drawing boards that can be wiped clean but obviously not. i'm gonna try getting into this stuff...how did u go about that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kerembeyit In reply to tony2k4 [2004-08-01 22:03:02 +0000 UTC]

They sure looks like drawing boards but they're digital You can get some info about tablets on [link] . I don't know about UK but tablets are too expensive in my country, my cousin bought me one in USA.

well, I must say your exercises are pretty good
this painting is very detailed and with an excellent lighting, I also love the creature itself, it looks very evil. did you made any pre sketches for that, or did you work from scratch?
the only thing that misses is an environment, but since it is an exercise (at least that is what you claim it is ) this isn't really a valid ^^
I am amazed at the speed you work with, 3 hours, that's damn fast
great work

kerembeyit In reply to memod [2004-08-01 19:13:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks As for the enviroment, it's just a side-view figure for a modeller. That's why there is no enviroment. I didin't use any pre sketches, this is 100% digitally created.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

memod In reply to kerembeyit [2004-08-01 19:51:37 +0000 UTC]

for a modeller? are you a concept artist in a company?
and by the way... such a thing without pre sketches, your anatomy knowledge must be really great.
anatomy is a thing I have to learn too, if I ever want to create characters too. do you have any tips how to begin best?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kerembeyit In reply to memod [2004-08-01 22:21:44 +0000 UTC]

No not a company That's a dream for me now. I am just a beginner, 5 years later who knows? maybe It's an amateur project, I hope they're gonna make it. I don't use pre-sketches for simple figures but I have to draw pre-sketches for complicated paintings. You wanna tip? Read lots of comics and draw, draw, draw... That's the key

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

memod In reply to kerembeyit [2004-08-01 22:29:26 +0000 UTC]

yeah, my dream would be 2d/3d artist in a game development company, or movie postwork/graphical work *sigh* but I am not sure if I will be good enough for that. hopefully I will.
hm, you suggest comics? never thought about that. I thought about buying some good anatomy books, I just don't know if they can motivate me enough. I guess that's my main problem, the motivation to really practice drawing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kerembeyit In reply to memod [2004-08-01 23:05:15 +0000 UTC]

Believe me I never learned anything from anybody in life Comic books are my teachers. Frazetta, Brom, Royo, Vallego, Jim Lee, Queseda, Portacio, Buscema, Manara. check out these guys I don't like anatomical books. Well at least I prefer drawing wolverine instead of anatomy pictures. If you want a anatomical knowledge draw from life, draw your friends, your cat. But stay away those didactic anatomical books... They're boring and they cannot give you the desire for drawing
