So if Lola is with Pepe, does that mean Bugs will be with Penelope Pussycat? I hope not

maybe the pokeshipping hints were ship teases

It's actually true. Because Pokeshipping wasn't even brought up in the Japanese dub, just the English 4Kids dub.

There was also another episode of SpongeBob where Sandy faints from eating raw chum and SpongeBob takes off his helmet and takes a deep breath... Then he feeds her a krabby patty

Why, of course, that's true. In "Haunt of the Night of Blacker Darkness", Peter Possum and Doris Deer went out on a date together, but Peter had to keepΒ leaving as Pith Possum to catch some crooks. By the end of the short, he read a note from Doris that she would date Pith Possum from now on, and not Peter. It was pretty sad when Peter believed that Doris would never go out with him again, and it broke my heart when he started crying like crazy. Although "Haunt of the Night of Blacker Darkness" is my favorite "Pith Possum" segment from "The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show", it made me almost lose faith in Doris Deer, which most of you guys out there know that a cartoon woman is usually a bit of a snob. Plus, what do you think of my "One Crazy Road Trip" story and my first new avatar of Doris Deer?

Amen sister! If you're going to pair two characters together from a series make sure that the evidance is clearly there and that everyone can see it. Don't go pairing two characters that have had little to no interaction whatsoever.

Technically, Pepe did show he had feelings for Lola with his "So lucky, so so lucky" lines. He found her attractive. She thought he was a charmer when they were discussing wedding plans, you could tell from the way she acted. Did you see the entire episode?

Shiinsan23 [2011-05-21 01:48:22 +0000 UTC]
This is why I like these kinds of episodes. Relationships don't matter in cartoon comedies, so it's amusing when people take their shipping that seriously.
It's really the creators saying to the fan, "Um, hello? This show isn't ABOUT relationships. If you want to go play shipping, go watch a drama!"

you can't focus on comedy 100%.

you need more than that.

In a cartoon show about a bunny and a duck? Nah, kids focus on slapstick better than relationships. Unless you're one of those childhood shippers, which aren't very common.

what about the older viewers that watch it?
π: 0 β©: 1
sidviscous In reply to Krypto451 [2011-05-27 01:23:33 +0000 UTC]
The network is obviously going to care for older viewers, but not as much as they care for younger viewers. Because younger viewers ARE their main audience. For instance, in a baby show like, say, Handy Manny, they're not going to throw in an affair between Manny and what's-her-name at the store. Because it's a BABY SHOW.
There are shows for "older audiences" where relationships between characters are off-limits, such as Fillmore, or The Weekenders, and you know what? Viewers can focus on absolutely nothing but the plot, without shipping getting in the way. So it can work.

I didn't say you can't focus totally on the plot, I said you can't focus totally on comedy. there needs to be a serious moment, and why not romance?
π: 0 β©: 1
sidviscous In reply to Krypto451 [2011-05-27 11:54:45 +0000 UTC]
For a better example then, think of comedy skits. They don't need to have serious moments- as a matter of fact, they SHOULDN'T. Because the whole point of it is to make the audience laugh- NOT SHIP. Most of the original Looney Toon shorts didn't even have "serious moments". Actually, non of them did. That's because no one should take it seriously, which brings us back to the point of PEOPLE CAN FOCUS ON COMEDY WITHOUT GETTING BORED.
π: 0 β©: 1
Krypto451 In reply to sidviscous [2011-05-27 20:12:00 +0000 UTC]
but the new Loooney Tunes isn't a series of skits, it has continuity. your point is moot.

sidviscous In reply to Krypto451 [2011-05-28 01:23:55 +0000 UTC]
I wasn't saying that the New Looney Toon show shouldn't have continuity, I was saying that people CAN focus on comedy.
And I was right. People can.

if the new show has continuity, it should have serious moments. all comedies have them.

sidviscous In reply to Krypto451 [2011-05-28 02:07:36 +0000 UTC]
Once again, I'm not talking about the new show. I'm talking about any show in general that focuses on comedy. So yeah. IT'S POSSIBLE.

Rat Race hate a serious moment when they decided to give the money away.

π: 0 β©: 1
Krypto451 In reply to sidviscous [2011-05-28 18:07:31 +0000 UTC]
typo. the movie Rat Race had a serious moment when the characters decided to give the money they spent all this time selfishly trying to get, away to charity.

sidviscous In reply to Krypto451 [2011-06-02 13:00:12 +0000 UTC]
So? That does not disprove my statement that a show can survive the audience's attention span without romance/serious moments.

he reviews bad comic books on thatguywiththeglasses.com. he ranted about how characters die pointlessly in "Ultimatum" and how it reinforces the idea that you shouldn't became emotionally invested in a character or care what happens to them. and you SHOULD be emotionally invested and care.

a lot of people who create fiction treat there characters as real people to a point, why shouldn't the reader/viewer?
