i am gagged by words that you stuffed into my mouth to keep me quiet
and i am suffocating, drowning in your sea of "i hate you so much…you are such a failure." i am in the mirror, under your microscope and i just never measure up
to the meter-, yard-, match-sticks that you pinned to the wall with your criticism.

the pain in my chest has turned into shards of glass slicing through my lungs and heart and even though you never laid a hand on me, your words dig deeper than your nail guns and glue guns and pellet guns ever could.

the riptide of letters and sentences drags me into a sea of my failure,
filling my mouth with salt water tears and cyanide and forcing acid
through my fragile, paperthin veins…
and i can't even scream.
