This is the first in a series I'm planning as a present for my Dad, who's a big WWII buff. Frankly, I really know nothing about planes or WWII, but he's helping me with accuracy.This picture practically made itself due to the fantastic models by Anders Lejczak [link] The background image is by .

First this is a really great picture but it looks a little weird without the pilots

First, let me say you are probably the last artist I'd expect to find playing with WWII fighters! Your other work is so feminine...
Anyway, after thrashing about my self with trying to make dogfights look right, I discovered that putting a camera in the pilot's seat, and then parenting it to the plane makes setting up the correct view much easier. Just go to the pilot's view. That way you can see if your target is where you want him.
Anyway, nice image--and I love some of your other work.

So's my dad. I keep meaning to make more for him now that I've gotten better (I had only been doing 3D for a month or two when I made that one). This one isn't high enough resolution to be a decent print, so I really should redo it.

My dad is into the WW2 Battleships and planes, like the Mushashi, Turpitz, Goerge V, and stuff like that. He's heavily into Japanese, English and German Battleships.... He wants me to paint him picture of one of the planes or ships.... Should really get off my ass and do it LOL.
