Description Bittersteel and his little brother Brynden have to sit together away from the true-born children. Except Daemon I suspect. I bet he got to sit at the high table. Bittersteel is such a manly sort, with his short hair and beard. Beneath the gold, the man-rug. No doubt Brynden's girly long hair is an affront to him, along with Brynden's very existence.

I sort of got massively sick of this drawing halfway through colouring it. It wasn't coming out the way I wanted. Maybe I should stop being scared of the lack of undo with marker pens and get back into them, it's too easy to overwork digital painting. I need to loosen up.

The raven and cloak texturing on Brynden are really nice touches. The shading on his face is also really stark too, I like it. Bittersteel looks just...so...unhappy about everything.

Don't know this pair so the comments are a bit thin, I know >>

They're from the Hedge Knight series, but not alluded to in great detail, most of the info I got about them is from GRRM's notes on the web, and perhaps that's part of the appeal - I can let my imagination run riot.

"Beneath the gold, the man-rug."

And with that, I died.

Sadly this slogan did not catch on with the Golden Company!

Creeepy pet raven that somehow seems to be more intelligent than it should be. Hmmmmm.

Poor Brynden. I dunno which is worse, exile to Easteros or exile to the Wall.

The Wall is worse! There's no vow of chastity in Easteros.

*Gasp* What are you insinuating about the noble and virtuous fellows of the NightsWatch?
