Description
'This small, elusive creature can be seen flitting through the trees and creeping along hedgerows of the UK and Eurasia. A highly voracious insectivore, it has a surprisingly loud song for its tiny stature. 'My first submission of 2014 and a new gallery! I doodled this creature in my sketch book one day and decided to do a kind of field guide illustration of him. I wanted it to look like a children's book illustration.
:EDIT: Sorry for the re-notification, but I've changed the wrenfox a bit. I made the front feet a little bigger, and refined the feathers, changed the background paper and border to be more similar to the Peryton , as I want the series to look unified. Is it based on actual folklore creature (not gryphon, an exactly bid-fox mix) or just your original idea? :3

As far as I know there's no pre-existing creature or myth bird/fox. It just popped into my head one day fully-formed (then again it's a pretty simple mash-up) but I'm not sure what inspired it. I'd love to find some fox-bird mix in myth, that'd be really interesting. :3
