Description well, I was thinking about the origins of the wings of my dragons, and It occured to me I had to rethink the idea, or at least modify it. So the two main dragons you see are the two possible ancestrial creatures. One is the flying lizard. Their ribs couldve modified into handlike wings by the mid jurassic. Makes sense?? The other would be a primitive quadraped relative of the common ancestors of crocs, pterosaurs, and dinosaurs who evolved modified ribs in the early triassic or mid triassic. The one on the upper right, is the how wings would evolve on biped dragons.

Basically, I want opinions from people on which seems a more reasonable explanation for the wings.

Oh and anyone who is good at skeletals, feel free to make an accurate reconstruction of the evolution of the modified ribs over time. Similar to the cheap attempt I have on the bottom.

Haha oh man these are some old drawings. Yeah though over time it's started to confused me how even highly modified ribs could end up with the exact same bone structures as arms ie. humerus, radius and ulna, metacarpals, etc. I think it'd make more sense that it was a mutation that added an extra pair of limbs. But it all goes to show the impossibility of these types of dragons. Your work looks great though!

Here are my ideas on dragon evolution, which start out similar to your own- [link]

I depict my dragons as having evolved from coelurosauravis,
though I think you've already seen this one- [link]

Coelurosauravids would have grown larger and more draconian, reaching the size of a therapod carnivore during the early Jurassic. From our traditional six-limbed dragons, some would have split to form wyverns, sea dragons, easterns, etc, some losing their arms or becoming more serpentine.
