You have such a lovely sense of depth and lighting! I would never have guessed that you normally used lines from this piece. Each stroke seems so beautifully and well placed and provides a good sense of shape even without lines!

Not gunna lie. Shit like this CAN exist in the ocean and we (humanity) might NEVER know it! The ocean is too big. It justΒ freaks me out AND THIS PICTURE ISN'T HELPING.

So lobstertail instead of fishtail mermaid, now that looks quite creative. She looks positively vicious, though lobsters usually only eat corpses I think, they're like the vultures of the ocean.

Have you heard of mantis shrimp, those creatures are fascinating and nasty.

Cestarian In reply to Kevin-Glint [2019-05-15 14:40:12 +0000 UTC]

Of courseΒ  www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5FEj9…

That freak of nature is like some kind of shounen manga character. The smasher mantis shrimp has supersonic punches, and it can make them underwater... And I see now you modeled the mermaids tail after the mantis shrimp, including the smasher mantis shrimp's arms, but instead of being the size of a lobster it's the size of a whale... Nice.

That is one scary mermaid, I think I'd rather swim with reaper or ghost leviathans from subnautica than this mermaid. I bet (like legitimately considering the physics of it) her punches could collapse buildings, and I'm not talking about individual homes, more like hugeΒ  10 story apartment buildings.
