Holy smokes, that new trailer is dynamite.Full confession time: y'all may remember me defending the old design. You don't gotta believe me when I say this, but the reason I did so was because, at the time... I thought that was it. I thought that was what we were gonna get, period. I went out of my way to see good in it, and forced myself to be okay with it, LIKE it, even, because I didn't want it negatively affecting my enjoyment of the film.
I still enjoy the vibe of the first trailer. It's dumb, it's fun. But, yeah - this new one blows it so far out of the water it's not even funny. And the fact that we did get a redesign... it feels like a reward. And it's validating. Like, yes, they REALLY DO care about Sonic.
TL;DR: now that Sonic's been fixed, I don't feel the need to defend the old design anymore, and I'm not gonna try. Mea culpa, fellas.
At the very least, I do feel a little validated in my faith that the film itself was going to be fun, design aside. So... yeah, make fun of me for defending it ages ago. I'm not arguing. Hindsight is 20/20, and now that we know that the complaints actually managed to bring about positive change, I feel more than a little silly.
Sonic's pretty cool, guys.

I was skeptical at first when the producer said they would change Sonic. The first trailer gave the impression that they did not understand the Sonic phenomenon. And how can you improve something if you do not understand how it works?
But it seems that they really took the effort to learn.

I also agree a lil' bit with your choices on the original design. I was willing to accept his design if the movie was going to be good. And it seemed that way. Besides, it wasn't THAT bad. We could've gotten much worse XD. But after seeing his new design, it renews all faith any of us had in the movie, and next to the old one. This looks extremely good.

= They even put Tyson Hesse on board to redesign him. That's true fan support.
=His redesign does looks like a combination of 3 Sonics. He's got the blue fur of Classic/Mania Sonic, his whole entire design (including the shoes) looks closely familiar to Adventure Sonic, and hell, even his blue arms remind me of Boom Sonic (The 2ND worst Sonic XD)
