Nice capture of her through the snow. I assume she heard you? Or was she just turned towards you? It appears as if she is looking right at the camera.
P.S. I can't get over how gorgeous Akela is! She certainly looks like a alpha bitch.

I guess she was watching the young polar wolves that sticked their noses through the fence, almost directly in front of me and wondered what the hell they were doing there.

Haha, oh, so that is her "what are those crazy 'puppies' doing now?" look.
She is! Out of the wolves I've seen in person she definitely has the most distinctive, and uniform markings. Even few other ones that I've seen in pictures come close.

No, but her right ear is slightly anteverted. It's always like this. Such things happen when some wolf bit the ear to hard or nabbed it at a weak point.

Oops... die sieht aber sehr nach Hybride aus... kann sein, dass das wegen der eigenartigen Mischung aus Timber und Europäer ist

Ich weiß es nicht, der Park verkauft sie jedenfalls als Timberwölfe. Der Vater soll laut Vogelsang angeblich reiner Timberwolf sein, und die Mutter Timberwolf mit Einschlag Europäer. Stammen aus Ungarn ... ich glaube kein Wort davon, dass das fast reine Timberwölfe sein sollen. xD Die sehen einfach ganz anders aus. Gedrungen und winzig klein. Die 7 Monate alten Polarwölfe im Gehege sind schon größer als die.
Ein befreundeter Fotograf meinte, er kenne diesen Park aus Ungarn und die hätten definitiv keine richtigen Timberwölfe. Irgendwas von Eurasier und Kaukasischer Wolf hat der gesagt ... Ich habe keine Ahnung. xD Sie haben jedenfalls sehr hübsche Färbungen und sehen ungewöhnlich aus, aber Timberwölfe sind es nicht.
