Description or, should I say, 'how it should have looked in the first place.' If time allows, there will be models based on this picture.

I was finally fed up with general stupidity overtaking 40k fluff, and decided that if I want to ignore it, I might as well make my own improvements. So here you have basic eldar guardian, but this time not looking like slightly teched up human, but suitably ancient alien ghostly thing in armour that was grown and not built, and is constantly regenerating. No more space elf here.

Plus some teasers of things to come, namely dragon and scorpion helmets.

Hey! I Know im late to the party, But this is absolutely amazing!

I saw that you said you moved away from 40k fan arts, But i was wondering if you had an idea how to model this?

I love making conversions, and would really like to tackle this!

Might Just need to get really good with greenstuff!

Would Love to see wraithguard and wraithlords! (Re building my wraith army)

Anyways, absolutely amazing!

I hope this WraithBone idea seeps into Canon design. I wondered if Eldar would upload themselves into immortal WraithBone bodies, inedible to Tyranids, hard to break, customizable, regenerating and replaceable even if 'killed'. WraithBone is a psychic material, so no lack of sensation. Slaanesh is gonna get Dunked On.

Awesome! I think your instinct in doing Eldar more organic and more alien is astute.

Hey!
You're alive!

Cool re-design. I must forward this to someone working on a project...
Vicious alien Eldar!

Have you seen the Eldar re-design from Philip Sibbering?

and.. eh.... are you available for a few images for a new BFG project of mine?

Turns out I always return
Yep, I've seen Philverse Eldar and I was impressed with his whole idea of redesigning 40k. He was my main inspiration, actually.

Also, yes, I tend not to have a life therefore I am availible, with usual horribly long time of delivery. Data, please.

is this the eldar halfway in between the craftworld and dark eldar?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kharneth In reply to GeorgesConcepts [2011-08-30 10:39:31 +0000 UTC]

Actually, it's further from DE than official design - lot more organic and wraith-construct like. For DE, I plan to push them even further in opposite direction, with lots of gleaming metal and hi-tech industrial look. We'll see how it works out.

hitech industrial is techmarines basically.

FROSTWOLF884 [2011-08-24 14:43:29 +0000 UTC]

Impressive Its true that Ekdars are molked by begin a space elves but they are my favourite race.

And I like a lot of the armors pure organic shape and look, and how the gun is grown from the wrist and the armor re haping imself.

Kharneth In reply to FROSTWOLF884 [2011-08-30 10:43:04 +0000 UTC]

thanks. That was my problem - really cool alien race is commonly identified only as space elfs. Doesn't really do them justice.

Tiwyll [2011-08-24 08:07:45 +0000 UTC]

I really like this concept, first of all, they are walking on their toes, wich should give them a bit more spring to their steps, second, you ditched the manufactured look on their armours and made it more organic I definently prefer this concept to the present models. Some might say it looks too mean, but the Eldar aren't good. They have an agenda and sometimes that means they fight alongside other races. They are sometimes reasonable but not good, and, lets face it, most of the time they arent asking questions, just slicing away. I really look forward to the Striking Scorpion helmet, it looks badass.

GuiltyFlare [2011-08-24 02:26:20 +0000 UTC]

it looks good but it looks like more like insect armor, and the feet looks more like a kroot trooper

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kharneth In reply to GuiltyFlare [2011-08-24 09:11:27 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. As for feet - yeah, I had anatomy of the fellow inside modified too. No space elfs here.

GuiltyFlare In reply to Kharneth [2011-08-24 15:49:55 +0000 UTC]

there not eldar? what are they if they are a new race, will you be making any back story for them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kharneth In reply to GuiltyFlare [2011-08-30 10:42:18 +0000 UTC]

They're still be eldar, I've just pushed their look a bit further from standard elf. I'll be putting their anatomy design here in some time.

Hellstorm888 [2011-08-24 01:49:52 +0000 UTC]

I'm game on the concept, and the helmet. It does look a little busy for my taste though.

shadowseer66 [2011-08-24 00:13:03 +0000 UTC]

Like the overhaul, but I'd make it a bit cleaner personally, more symmetry, this to me is more suited to a dark eldar. Lovely looking piece though, at first glance didn't like it at all but after taking a moment I can really see alot of nice features. Nice work

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kharneth In reply to shadowseer66 [2011-08-24 09:10:21 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. Actually, I had clean, symmetrical look in store for dark eldar - Their stuff is normally manufactured, so they can concentrate more on how it looks. And they want to look good. This thing was sung into existance and then grew on its own - some random growths were bound to happen, I guess.

yup, can't wait till the other designs
Frankly, I always thought Eldar looked pretty damn silly (except the Avatar, he was always a badass) but this looks pretty damn good, great job

DanBoldy [2011-08-23 23:49:07 +0000 UTC]

Giger-esque! Makes me think more of Tyranids than Eldar - but I see what you were talking about in the description

Kharneth In reply to DanBoldy [2011-08-24 09:01:40 +0000 UTC]

Heh. Scorpion helmet even has almost-facehugger ornament on it.
Tyranids and Eldar are only two factions that grow their stuff instead of building it. Some resemblance was needed. ;]

Uncertain-Presence [2011-08-23 23:16:33 +0000 UTC]

Very interesting concept, but it sorta look like corrupted for me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kharneth In reply to Uncertain-Presence [2011-08-24 08:59:40 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's a valid point - one might assume that, in keeping with this image, ancient eldar empire had much more clean design, but now craftworlders are forced to use old and constantly regenerated equipment - thus irregular appearance. Plus, their wrrior persona might make psychoplastic materials grow spikes. Because why not.

SpectorKnight [2011-08-23 22:39:14 +0000 UTC]

That's a much more alien concept for them. Interesting.

thanks! That was my main problem with them - not alien enough...
