Description
This sketch card was started at the end of 2010. Life has been so hectic at work, it has taken me this long to finally finish it! I've never drawn Queen Amidala in this costume and would really hate to tackle it in a 9 x 12 or larger version!Star Wars and all characters belong to their owners and not me.
I found the reference on the internet at one of the Padme Amidala websites.

Derwent pencils F to 4B
2H Kimberly pencil
2B and HB mechanical pencil
kneaded eraser
blending stumps

Thank you! In Episode I, Keira disguises herself as Queen Amidala. She wears the black outfit with the feathers on the headdress and the black and red battle suit at the end. One of the things George Lucas did to cover this is he had Natalie pose in the black outfit for publicity shots!

You know, I study these tiny masterpieces so carefully and am, quite simply, flabbergasted by the precise lines and incredible detailing--the hair and hair pieces, her filligreed collar, her beautiful likeness... Stunning! I really like the reference, too--one I haven't seen before, which makes the drawing all the more special!

Thank you so much! I really tried to put as much detail into this as possible. I've had this reference for awhile, but I'm not sure where I found it! So many good SW reference sites have closed in the last few years. Thanks again for your comments, I really do appreciate your encouragement!
