Why yes. Yes I was too lazy to redraw them so I just recolored and updated an older drawing.

More to the point, I bet you're all wondering why on Earth I've come up with a new AU when I really haven't touched anything new in this fandom for a while. Or maybe you're not and it's all me. Either way. This isn't so much a new story as finding some kind of world to fit these guys into, since I loved them too much to let them go.

So! Welcome to my touching little happy AU where everything is about self-discovery and growing up.

The Dals of "Area 101" are now second gen character unrelated to genetic cloning. Despite their mismatched parentage, all six, later seven, generally hang out together.

Left to right:

Torbolt - Son of Tripod and Cadpig. I wasn't sure if it was still alright to use him, since I only technically own his spot pattern and half his original personality (he was a joint character shared with Rose) If you'd rather I not use him, I'll create a different stand-in pup. I just liked him in comparison to his smaller brother, Squirt. And that he has Giant's disease. I'm not sure if dogs can actually get it but this is fiction and I really don't care about details right now. They're friggin' dalmatians. But yeah. Torbolt. An honest guy who occasionally comes off as an egoist. He isn't really, he's just very into sports. In his youth and early teen years he was a star athlete and took great pride in his ability. As he grows older, he'll tire out more easily; regular-sized heart unable to keep up with his size. His giantism wasn't always apparent: both his parents and owners believed him simply to be on the larger side. Torbolt is closest to Stephanie and his brother, Squirt.

Stephanie - Daughter of Gregor and Jewel. Stephanie (or Steph) loves the chic and classy. She's lacking her mother's maturity, but isn't a brat so much as resembles her father's personality in his youth. Good girl, a little judgmental and guarded. Wears Torbolt's company like a decoration, mostly to shut Shorty up, who constantly flirts with her. Uncomfortable with her sexuality only because she feels it isn't what her peers expect of her.

Shorty - Son of Mooch and Rebecca. Shorty isn't his real name, just a (fond) nickname given to him by his father. He's a little like Mooch, but with a prominent sarcastic streak, and not so much a bully as a pain in the butt at times. Flirts with Stephanie for entertainment's sake but has no interest in pursuing her. Kind of the odd one out of the group. Speaks with a slight Scottish accent.

Maud - Daughter of Lucky and Gay. Long before her birth, Roger at last decided to adopt out some of his beloved dalmatians, due to the contract, finances and space. Dipstick, Pepper, and eventually Lucky were all sold to different owners. One of whom a young couple with a gray-spotted dalmatian named Gay. They brought her with them once or twice to meet Lucky, who found her pretty but uncomfortable to be around. Mostly because he knew what was to happen and it terrified him. However, Lucky eventually accepted that times had to change. He couldn't be leader of the "Luckybolts" forever. His friends had found happiness in their mates, it was time to embrace a real adventure. A little while after they had a litter between them. Maud is the eldest puppy. She bares her father's horseshoe and lacks a fourth leg; it didn't develop properly, so was amputated shortly after her birth. Maud grew up in a suburban neighborhood with few dogs, let alone dalmatians. Hearing stories of a farm with around 101 prompted her to investigate. Her friends and their parents don't learn who her father is until later.

Casey - Daughter of Mooch and Rebecca. Shorty's sister and his complete opposite. Casey is a ball of sunshine and rainbow sprinkles. Smaller than her brother as well, she's closest with Tether, whom she looks out for. Is the first to invite Maud into the group. Talks quickly. Scottish accent is more noticeable as a result.

Squirt - Son of Cadpig and Tripod. Deaf. A nice guy, bright where his brother is athletic. Able to read and communicates with his family through notes and occasionally sign language. Frustrated with other dogs who don't understand this, including Tether (although it's more a 'can't' in his case.) Generally hangs around his brother, Torbolt, whose intimidating presence usually guarantees he won't be bothered outside their group. Still not sure if Squirt is his real name, either.

Tether - Son of Penny and Patch. Still haven't figured out how they get together, don't really care and I'm not entirely sure they would either. I feel like they'd be like biromantic lifemates, only having Tether because they each wanted a puppy so why not have one together or something. Because headcanon says Penny is asexual. I dunno, I'm tired of dal incest...
Anyway, they were always close, and that closeness drew them together as they aged. Tether is the only pup of his litter, which might explain part of his childishness. He also has pretty awful ADHD which generally limits his friends to Casey and those in his group, although he's mostly the tagalong there. He is capable of rational thought, he just has trouble with articulation.

What else...

Ah. Rolly gets with Grizel in this story because I didn't want a crossover. Except Two-Tone I'm just saying found Buster and moved in because she's not on the farm and I don't want another story centered around her actions.
